A big thank you for a great patch! Keep up the great work devs
Get a few thank yous in before the complaint posts start rolling in again over something new.
But yes, I think they went in the right direction with most of the changes.

There seems to be little to no work in the pvp section of this free to play game. They may be working their kitten off at anet but I’m not seeing results I’d like to see.
A great patch which brings a green color to the Heart of Mists and nothing else.
Thank You devs!
They may be working their kitten off at _ but I’m not seeing results I’d like to see.
You can apply this to absolutely every group, organization and company in the known world coming from a subsection of the population.
Even though you may not have your agenda being catered to surely you can see that ANet has been pretty active overall in supporting their non-subscription based MMO. I believe that’s the point of the thread, but I could be wrong.
(There’s also quite a bit of class balance adjustments in the patch, which always affects pvp. Just sayin’)
That said: Kudos ANet. I don’t quite understand why you do some of the things you do, but I respect and appreciate the fact that you continue to work on this game.

Why is ‘free to play’ an argument?
It’s not that they can sell us the game and than say ‘heck, forget fixing anything, they already paid’.
If they don’t keep working on it, the game will suffer, and their next sales will suffer.
As for the changes itself:
bug fixes are not some extraordinary thing they are handing to us, it’s basically fixing the game we already paid for.
This said: it’s nice that they do, but I don’t understand the argument used of ‘a free to play game’.
As if we didn’t spend money on something that should work properly.
So, bug fixing aside, I’m not really sure what more they did.
I catch a few balance tweaks here or there, which are great as well.
Anything beyond that for pvp?
note: don’t get me wrong: it’s always polite to say ‘thanks’, but from what I see it’s moslty within the range of what can be considered the normal maintenance of a game.
I appreciate the fact they didn’t abandon us even though they could since we all paid already… right? This is what the OP is hinting at.
But I sort of consider the pvp changes in the patch as ‘normal maintenace routine’.
I’m missing the special part here.
I did read the blog and noticed that neither spvp mess, or tpvp premade vs pug is being adressed. But they do give more incentive to pay for paid tournaments.
Not sure how impressed I am with that, for a ‘free to play’ game selling gems.
Half the Halloween blog reads as a gem sales add, but that’s not pvp related of course.

This.
Enough with the “this is free to play” arguments. Guild Wars 1 had PvP GREAT at launch. There is just no excuse here.
My opinion is the graphic artists at ANet should be given huge raises and the management/team in charge of sPvP or all combat in general should be looked at very closely to see who gets the axe. It almost seems to me like after GW Factions, ANet lost a core of their good staff(those who created HA/RA/TA) in GW1, the game started becoming cartoonish and then things like Jade Quary started getting injected into the game.
Seriously, who came up with this conquest mode and how long until we get something ELSE. It’s not a matter of “getting bored too fast” this is just NOT fun, anyone could have told you that before you even created it.
Where is TDM??
