So I dont personally like to steal other tournament teams builds setup, but rather understand why they built them the way they are. Rarely does this happen, so im going on here. Here are a few questions i’d love answered.

1. Are there any generally rules to follow when forming a team? Such as these two classes don’t go well together, these two go great, you need a roamer, you need a support, you need a bunker, etc.

2. Whats the best place to find builds for tournaments?

3. Why do these builds work well?

4. Do certain builds only work well when played with another certain calss

5. Do you guys have any tips or tricks you wouldn’t mind sharing?

You will want a bunker or 2, you will want roamers for burst and support. Most roamers fill both roles. You will want to avoid warriors. Rangers are…. iffy but decent roamers in certain setups.

You want a mesmer, period. You COULD run your team without one and succeed, but it won’t be as easy. Mesmers make great node controllers, especially when they know how to abuse portal to help defend two nodes simultaneously. Also they make Khylo treb control vastly vastly easier. Possibly the best overall 1v1 class while also bringing time warp or mass stealth, both amazingly useful for group fights.

You will want to build your team to synergize together (one of the main reasons to avoid warriors, all other classes do their job better and with better team contributions).

Watch and study their streams, also the streams of other groups such as http://www.alphacollective.org/

This will be your best bet into viewing the builds in action, along with strategy and synergy between classes.

i can suggest you something OT:

- learn your class in every aspect he has (cond damage, power, tanky, support)
- learn every combo field and finisher he has and the combinations you can have
- learn every map (when to do bosses/how to steal them; to do guild lord or not to do guild lord; use treb or not, destroy theirs or not)
- learn to coordinate with teammates
- test in free tournament
- repeat this list for every teammate you have
- profit

to start you can use what Braxxus suggests.

and remember: player skill makes the difference, not the team build. (just won a tourney with 2 necro, 2 thief, 1 mesmer..and it was just to troll…lol)
