Hey guys, this is Teef Teef Teef Teef, former best multiclass NA.

I know I’ve said that I’ve quit and all but I’ve still stuck around, trolling dueling arenas and daily rooms, because that’s the only thing I find fun anymore in this game.

This time though, after seeing what Anet did with HoT, first I didn’t really understand what happened. But then I looked at it again and realized I got shafted up the kitten. 50 bucks for an absolute trash PvP mode and a new class. WTF???

Then today I looked at the specialization notes. I read them a few times, basically all I saw was that thief became next level overpowered while necro got destroyed. They next-level power creeped with the specs, and the thing is, thief will hardcounter necro sooooo hard that it will literally be unplayable. Even if they fix it, I KNOW Anet will take months and months and months to fix Thief, and I know necro will NEVER get the buffs it deserves. This isn’t just another of my thief whine threads, it just amazes me how bad they actually are at balancing, and also all the random unnecessary crap they put in the expansion just for the sake of baiting people into buying it thinking its “new”.

Anet has disgusted me for a while now in the way they ignore their current customers in favor of trying to get new customers. They’ve also driven me away with the absolute lack of anything for PvP in forever. The last update we’ve had was the trash update where they removed soloQ and added a bunch of bullkitten UI updates saying it was new and “improved”. Anet wants nothing but money from new players. There’s nothing wrong with getting money, that’s what every company does, but Anet exploits our passiveness and ignores us veterans.

Basically I’m done. I know this thread will attract a bunch of fanboys and trolls saying “ok then leave”. But really, I encourage you all to actually look at the game for what it is. If you really look at it, you’ll see that everything I’ve just said is true. Guild Wars 2 is dying, there are signs of it everywhere. HoT is Anets last attempt to get free money from you guys before abandoning this game. Don’t fall for it.

Actually, I agree. I don’t give a flying kitten about new PvE event grind, so basically all I get out of €45 price is Revenant + elite specs.

I guess the cash I set aside for HoT is going into steam sale now.
Any recommendations what to get?

Fractured Space is in alpha, but it’s looking really solid. Also, the pricetag will leave with tons of cash leftover for other stuff.

You know what I see here? I see a dude who doesn’t do anything else than PvP. Ofcourse that’ll be boring in the long run. When expansion hits they’ll release a new pvp mode/map…and surely more maps in the future for Stronghold.
They’ve also revealed that they’ll add an Arena to the Guild Halls….also a GvG option?

Btw,thief got buffed,but have you looked at all the other patch notes for the other classes as well? They’re all buffed. And necros haven’t got shafted. They’ve received 3 or 4 “nerfs” (it really depends how you look at it,I see it as buffs tbh) but when you look closer on the necro traits you can see traits there which they kind of ripped off of the “nerfed” skills and made them into traits. And those traits are glorious if I may say so myself.

Take a long hard look on those new traits and tell me that they aren’t nerfs And everyone else’s for that matter,see how everyone got buffed accordingly to everything else? After this update they’ll have to fine polish the stuff but as it stands now,it looks okay lol.

Downloaded it during free weekend, got to keep it. Didn’t play much so far, but looked pretty decent.

You don’t need the Elite specs. Keep your current build. You still get Strong Hold either way and all the new trait stuff. Sure, you won’t get Revenant, but who says how good that is anyway? Little need to quit over it, I feel, if you’re only wanting PvP stuff.

Though, again, I hope PvP’ers will be able to purchase the elite specs separately from the XPac.

So people are already wanting to quit before they even try out the new stuff? It might end up being better than it is atm. Sure its a ton of changes and its gonna feel new, but hell give it a chance. As for the price if you like the game 50 bucks is nothing for a game that is free to play with extra content that will be coming out as well. You should be happy to pay and support the game if they make no money we don’t get content I am happy to support this game heck I even buy gems when I can.

Theres no reason for pvper to support this game for the joke balance decisions (buffed engi, mes and thief, nerfed necro into delete state) and poor matchmaking along with removal of soloq and other stuff.

Well I am sorry too hear that. I pvp,pve, and wvw so I get the full game experience. Perhaps if all you want is pvp you should look into another game with a great combat system although off the top of my head I can’t think of any with combat with the same pace. I wouln’t even go back to wow after this game ditched it after 7 years, because of the stale combat and constant daily torture of mashing 2 buttons.

Well there’s Smite. Might actually go and play it again. Hell might even throw them €25 to have all the current and future gods unlocked.

Well there you go mabye after a break you might change your mind and check this game out again I know I spend some time on another game for a tad bit when I come back to gw2 something feels new. You could have just burned yourself out too quickly.

I’m baffled by those changes too

What they did is absolute nonsense.

It will get boring in a month or two, even before HoT even releases ( patch is coming in a week ya know).

The thing that mostly shocked me is what they did to thief, it’s like they’re playing another game and/or they totally don’t care about the impact it will have on it.

Anet and NCSoft have proven with this HoT debacle that they are completely untrustworthy and greedy pieces of kitten.

I wish I never bought this game or spent money on these disgusting people and this disgusting game.

Guys Heavensward comes out on the 23rd and that is a REAL expansion, not this pathetic attempt at a cash grab.

I agree with u man. 50$ for a new class and few trash specialisations like longbow guardian is a joke. The expansion should have been free after all their poor decisions and lack of true content.

I think they are just trying to make as much money as they can before the game dies completly.

Ugh if content is that important too you just go play world of warcrap enjoy paying 15 bucks a month or any other game with a monthly payment that requires you to spend everyday like a job too keep up. Good luck:)

Most of you GW2 (only mmorpg game) players aren’t aware of this. But this expansion bullkitten is basic routine from any design/developing team. But you must look at the expansion further down the timeline. ArenaNet will once again bring in new content at no additional cost; more areas, more updates, etc….

Blizzard, BioWare, Trion Worlds, Aion Team Development Dept, Carbine Studios, Lineage (NCSOFT) etc…

(Although three of them are under NCSoft as well, lol)

The expansion for any game brings what you would call a dlc, which should cost $15, but does not. Because it’s the future development as well to look forward to.

I’ve defended this game for a very long time, but I can’t snymore. Power creep has ruined this game for me. I really want to stay, but every time I play I become more bitter.

You all are as bad as those whiny “I’m leaving the guild” melodramatic posters. Nobody that you don’t communicate with regularly via Skype cares if you are leaving. Just leave with some dignity kitten .
