So, I was interested how non-PvP-players actually do in the recent ranked games. I’ll take my gf as example. About 1k hours played, mostly on ranger/druid, mostly in WvW. She played some PvP-matches before but it was more for fun than anything else. Wanna know what’s funny? She managed to carry herself into sapphire within 24 hours with just one lost match. Mostly it was more of a farming-festival than an actual match. At this time, all the good players are already in higher tiers while the people sucking really hard are still in those lower divisions. If you consider yourself a good player, but you’re always matched with “stupid tards who can’t play” watch out… you will need math. You’re obviously always the fixed player in your team, that means you will get matched with 4 persons against 5 persons. If you are good and everyone sucks your team now has 1 good and 4 bad players while the enemy team has 5 bad players. That means the game should be in your favour, right? You say you are a decent PvP-player, why aren’t you able to carry yourself out of this bottomless hole if everyone else sucks so hard? Now imagine you take a friend who also knows how to play. Now you’re 2 good and 3 bad players against 5 bad players. How the hell could you lose that? Maybe… just maybe… you’re overestimating yourself? I’m gonna take a look how she will be doing getting to ruby and beyond.
