A new system for stats : Sliders
this would be definitely better if they make the correct limitations. like not being able to have much vitality and toughness, and no merccenary stats.

I think this has potential. Like you say, there would need to be certain restrictions, but I definitely like this idea a lot!
I would personally say tough + vit + healing can be no more than 1800 and if you wanted to invest more than 600(or 900) into toughness or vitality, you can no longer invest in the other. Same thing with healing power, if you invest more than 600 points you can only invest in either toughness or vitality. To minimise bunkering, but that’s already getting into he small details of it
How does this interact with classes? I mean a thief got different stats as a hillbil..eh a ranger?
Personally I think you’re on to something, however sadly I don’t think A-net will even give something like this a second thought, which is sad considering SPvP can get away with anything without effecting the rest of the game due to it being completely isolated. That being said there are still things that take priority imo before something like this would need to take place like balancing Spvp on its own for example.
And based off them deleting an amulet every other month something like this would be a burden off their shoulders if they could get it right. but judging from the past I wouldn’t consider that for a second.

It’s just too complicated and hard to control.
The easier solution is to:
- Remove the 4-stat amulets.
- Split the 3-stat amulets into multiple items. Let players mix and match them.
This solution is good enough for stat customization and still allows ANet some control over stat combinations.

My thoughts exactly. They won’t listen to well written constructive balance suggestions or to anything like this. But maybe they discuss the ideas amongst themselves and they get turned down.
As you said, they have been deleting amulets and adding new ones but if sliders are implemented, they could put some restrictions and be done with it. Also as a side note, they need to nerf the duration of all damaging condis on all classes so they would need to invest in expertise as well to be dangerous, just like a zerker build that needs ferocity and crit.
I very much like this.
As you said, restrictions would have to be in place to prevent broken combinations, but overall it would lay a solid foundation for maximum diversity in stats for the future.
