This doesn’t make sense to me, since you can already do this in the Obsidian Sanctum and custom arenas.

I wouldn’t be fair to score 3v3 games the same as 5v5. That’s an apples to oranges comparison.

As to filtering out classes from your game.. well that’s just asking to be abused, especially in tournaments.

My sense is that you are really asking for organized team pvp only. It seems like you would like see one or more classes eliminated from the game as well.

There would be separate rewards for each of the different game-modes, 1v1 would be the least out of all of them because it would be very fast, and 3v3 would reward more etc.

As for the “removing class” thing, it would prevent the issue of 1 class being completely dominant, and allowing players to avoid hard counters if they wanted. And as I stated before, banning out classes and amulets would greatly reduce rewards.

1v1,2v2, and 3v3 are all doable in custom arena games.

No what they need to do is add different types of game modes for team play revolving around 5v5.

With the new guild halls you can also organize your 1 v 1’s there.

OP is 100% right, while the combat and game is amazing, solo Q PVP most of the time is a complete boredom, it comes down to either waiting in Q, waiting 1 mins for all players to press “I’m ready” (no one ever does), and then having a complete botched match at least 50% of the time.

For those who argue we have the possibility for 2v2 and 3v3 in custom arenas is complete BS, really, who does that??? Yah like I’m gonna play conquest on 3 pts 2v2? Not to mention no Q system, no players to play that with, and no real incentive.

What we need are 1v1 2v2 and 3v3 insta kill matches (not even TDM, kill once and win, gladiator style), idc if I get 100 pts per win on this or even 0 as long as a proper leaderboard is implemented where I can actually see my rank in game and have visibility to other player ranks too so I can team with someone my own rank for a 2v2, 3v3, etc (different Q and lead board for each category).

It’s much easier and much more fun to team up with just another friend or two, coordinating 5 ppl is just way too much, it’s much easier to also get better this way and also much more satisfactory to see yourself go up the ladder based on skill and not luck of which teammates/opponents you’re gonna get in the solo Q.

Also this solves the stupidly long wait times, I can barely squeeze 4 games in one hour, this doesn’t make any sense… imagine matches which Q instantly and end in less than 5 minutes at the max.

I was playing another game before this on a freaking mobile device, graphics and combat system were old and outdated but the PVP still was way more fun and competitive than what I feel gw2 provides simply by using these 2 modes 2v2/4v4 with proper leaderboards and top lead board unique rewards (an incentive to be top dog).

What kills me is just the potential of this game in PVP is so amazing yet I find myself barely wanting to play this mode.

Do you know why we don’t have that? Because the population is too low, so ANet is quite scared of splitting it even more. The thing is the population is not going to grow with this system, but rather drop.

Why not? If everyone gets what they want maybe there will actually be people in Q and we won’t have to wait so long?

Forcing people to play what they don’t want just makes people not play at all.

So much this, there is already a community of 75+ people who frequent the 1v1 hotjoin rooms, they arent playing conquest or stronghold because its not as fun.

Justin already confirmed that it probably won’t happen! And if it does happen, it won’t be for a few years at least! I’ve been asking for this for years! They just don’t care!

It isn’t off the table, and we have most of the tech for it. I expect at some point we will do it, just not now. I don’t know when either.

Basically confirming they will never happen and if it does, it won’t be for another few years when this game will be a barren wasteland of wasted potential and inept devs and their shattered esports dream!

they just need to put in a dueling arena gamemode, 1v1 , fight to the death and a useful rankings.

I wish it wasn’t true, but solo Q pvp for me has now been somewhat limited to “hot join daily pvp” and that’s it… The rest just isn’t fun as much as I try, so much wasted potential, please ANet do something about this.

1v1 is dumb idea cuz classes are balanced looking teamwise most of class in 1v1 are much stronger than others, some have “hard counters” some do not, some require brain some do not.

There can be always Capture the flag mode, Attack/Defence mode and so many other modes know from other games. There can be even 12 vs12 huge contest map with 10 points

The more pve and gimmicks the less apparent are the flaws.

I don’t think you understand what pvp is. It’s just players competing against other players. Having objectives does not take away anything. It makes the game more strategic rather than all tactical. Button mashing just dumbs down the game.
