A suggestion for 4v5 matchups
+100 Personal Score is like saying: “Please have a virtual cookie.” You get reminded of something u are not receiving which is an actual cookie. Please think of something more useful.
60s is more than enough for the opposing team to win the match. Honestly if they don’t, they suck and you should be able to win the match with 4. The only solution is to replace the disconnecting player ASAP with no waiting period at all or less/equal to than 10s.

It is true that +100 is a bit too much, but to encourage players to join a game with a high chance of losing, you need to reward them with a free cookie, +50 points? a small gold or exp bonus maybe?
10s is a bit too short, some players with slow pcs will find difficulties to change class during the match (long loading screen), there are also the pepole who get a random internet disconnection and want to relog quickly, imo 20s to 30s is good

I know, I’m one of those ppl that get random dc’s. Most of the time when that happens, I feel sorry for the other ppl in my team, especially if we were winning. But you know what? That happens, and I’d rather my team get a replacement ASAP.
All that said, 20s might not be too much. But you have to count the time that the extra player takes to get to the match, and to be useful in it. And that’s where the long loading screens and slow internet become even bigger devils.

So let me get this right, instead of a game i could help win the first (importand) fight i go into a game, whith any possible outcome (most likely not a ood one) and can’t even switch my skills/weapons/class according to the enemy team, because i am just trown into that match without preparation time?

Advantage, and in case the missing player had a bad ping before the disconnect, it’s even worse….

I said in an earlier post that 20-30s before kicking afk players might be enough, it’s true that this will hurt the team score but making it 0s will be not forgiving for players who got random dc or want to switch characters, these players are needed more than new ones because they already know the enemy team and they already got the chance to prepare a good spec for them.
I don’t think it’s necessary to allow players to change builds during the match, when someone queues for 4v5 games he’s usually having a spec that might work in almost every situation and GW2 does not have too much variety when it comes t o viable builds.
No matter how long it takes to replace afkers, giving the other 4 an extra hand will always raise their chance of winning (even by 1%) it will also reduce the amount of blaming/swearing during the match.

When i get a DC i need more as 10-20 seconds, restarting the router alone takes that time – however reloging a character can be made under 10 seconds. This would mean those with DC would be punished – and those in hope for a new game would also be punished by beeing forced into a game that is already winning/loosing wothout them doing anything
When i play – i want to be in the match all the time, notonly half of the time
All in all, this is a pretty idea. However, there’s no way to make it work for real. If you get into a 4v5 situation, it’s unfortunate but you are better off than the alternative. Matches in GW2 PvP are just too fast-paced to be resolved in this way.

Oooooor, if someone disconnects make it instant replace, and if someone logs to char screen make it max 20 seconds. The game can distinguish that pretty easily.
There’s no reason to argue this will hurt players who have constant DCs because it is better to hurt player that DCs than the 4 other people in team who don’t have anything to do with someone’s bad connection.
Restarting router alone usually takes few minutes alone if you do that, restarting game can also take pretty long depending on loading screens. If you have bad connection and go into game where 4 other people depend on you then you need to take on a certain amount of responsibility.

I’d kinda like to see char changes disabled after the match starts, too. I’ve seen a couple of times when people switched characters when they thought they were winning so they could get a daily win on another profession on a ‘safe’ game… and I’ve lost at least one game because multiple people on my team tried to do that while the game was actually reasonably close.

Well, I meant 10 seconds before match and until match ends. What is even point in leaving this feature in game. Makes no sense you are able to witch chars during game.
