Since you delete all my topics where I rage, I will try the constructive way.
I personally think that there are 4 main reasons why there are 4v5 games:
1. Player is disconnected or turned off the game in “waiting window”,
2. Player is disconnected during the game,
3. Player is akitteng,
4. Player is raging because the teams are absolutely unbalanced and it would be just a waste of time, so is akitteng or turning off the game.
Maybe there are some more reasons why we still play 4v5 games, but let’s try to find a way to fix these.
1. Player is disconnected or turned off the game in “waiting window”
Nobody knows if the player is just reloging or if he really dced/turned off the game. But there is one thing we can be sure about. When the 10 seconds window before match starts, there are only 4 players in the game, which means that the player won’t most probably play this game or will join during the match. I personally think that nobody wants to join their teammate when the score is like 400:50 so why don’t give them another player since the beginning? I personally think that there are players joining the soloQ approximately every 20 seconds (maybe more, maybe less, but it really doesn’t matter) so instead of creating new 5 member team, just put the player in the 4v5 team which is already playing. I know that it’s a little bit unfair to players who might join during the match, but he can just wait 5 more minutes for another match and since there are only random players, the player really doesn’t care who is in his team. This way the team would be in 4 for maximal 20 seconds.
There is a assumption for this to be useable. A player who joins the game wants to play and don’t care if he’s waiting 2 minutes or goes play immediately. This would be easily fixed by adding a “I don’t care about joining 4v5 team” button.
Example:
I start the game and we are obviously 4v5 in the map. We already have the starting window so we go fight in 4 for sure. In hotm there is one absolutely random guy who wants to play soloQ too. He sign in and he is immediately joining the game and we are 5v5.
2. Player is disconnected during the game
It can easily happen and it happens often. There are few main reasons why this happens:
1. Bad internet provider so the internet doesn’t work,
2. Electricity provider turned off the electricity,
3. Computer is restarted.
If we look at the reasons, for the first 2 we can assume that the player won’t be joining the game. For the third it depends on computer and it can be from 20 seconds to 10 minutes, but the player won’t be probably joining the match soon so there is 4v5 team again. I would do the same like in the 1. problem. Just give them another player. There would be a problem with reward, because both players would play the game and if they would have win, they both should get the reward. I don’t think that both of them should get the full reward because that would cause players to “fake” dc. So let’s split the reward by time they played.
Example:
We play game 6 minutes and I get d/c. I won’t be probably joining the team soon, so there is absolutely random guy in hotm who will join my team. The game would continue 5 more minutes and our team would win. The whole match was 11 minutes = 660 seconds. Reward is 150 glory and rank points. I would get 150/660*360 and the other would get 150/660*300. We both would get the chest because it’s useless anyway. Only problem would be if the match should be counted like win/lose for both of them.
3. Player is akitteng
We all see this in games. Player is akitteng all the time or half of the game. It is not hard to recognize that the player is akitteng. He is either not moving for some time or he is moving and spamming auto heal. There are two ways how to fix this.
First “player is akitteng” button in report system so if all 4 players would report the player as akitteng, the player would be immediately kicked and substituted for random guy in hotm. This assumes that people are not kittened and won’t report players for no reason but honestly, why would they do it?
Second way is to automatically kick the player after 30 seconds of non-moving. After 20 seconds there would be “you are not moving” warning window and after 10 seconds the player would be kicked and substituted. Of course there are bunkers or side point holder who don’t have to move the whole game, but what do you prefer? Games 4v5 or players moving once in 30 sec. I think that if someone wants to play a game he should watch game and play, not sitting around. The reward system would be the same like in 2.
Example
There is player obviously akitteng. We all see him so we all report him – he is immediately kicked, we get new player and we are playing 5v5 again.
