What are peoples thoughts on afkers ie. and when people decide to either afk to spite another player or when they give up while staying at the computer to avoid kick?

They committed to the game buy pressing accept which in the real world would be seen as a signature or accepting that they give that time to the game.

This is for both ranked and unranked as in both game modes you are still giving time of your life to play usually with strangers in hopes of them being of a similar attitude to your own and team.

Sure peoples dogs get caught on fire all the time but theres not even a report function for people afking either on purpose or not, let alone hackers.

Just report them for botting – they will be investigated eventually.

ANet needs to add afk to the report function. Otherwise, seems all we can do it report, and hope that somewhere along the line an admin understands that when we said botting we meant afk and then has the capacity to actually track if the player akitten or not, and then decided to take punitive action.

Logic has nothing to do with it, it is to do with being mature and respectful of other peoples time.

I made the thread due to the fact ive had many games ruined by people afking on purpose due to them either getting annoyed at the team, has played with an ally before and dislikes them, having a bad day and taking it out on the team etc.

I dont think needing to go toilet during a game is looked down apon by anyone but purposly packing a hissy fit when you dont get what you want or doing it to try and get a reaction from someone should be punishable.

You had enough time to roll a smoke before the game started, and they usually last less than 10 minutes.

If i’m not mistaken you can report someone in SWTOR for suiciding. That’s a bit more sad then adding a function to report someone to afk so the opposite team can fight club the win.

But i would not mind having a report button for that too, it is ruining for everyone else. Sure if the score is 20-430 to the other team then i dont mind people camping base for the rest of the game.

Or if we have a 5v4 or 5v3 or less its pretty much a gg too unless you can turn it around with 4 people against 5 (is possible) but would understand why someone would afk in that situation.

But having someone afking at the very beginning of a game or just complete randomly if we lost a main fight it does not have to mean that its a gg already. Afking in such matter will just then make the possibility to lose a reality and ruin the game for 4 other people imo

so you think i should get banned when we are losing because my team fights off point or just keeps running to far while the other 2 points are not ours……. seems fair

im not going to even bother fighting and getting killed if my “team” wont even listen to some form of a strategy.

Sound like quene solo woes there, if you don’t like it there are a couple options you could attempt to premake a team.

What do you think people think about it? Well, I can’t speak for others but I totally think it’s cool when people go afk mid match to spite me.

Also there is a report for “hacking”. It’s called “botting”. Bad wording I know, but rather obvious otherwise.

But it’s worse than this. There are people who will afk just because their team lost the very first fight, which is downright narrow-minded of them. I’ve even seen people afk before the match even starts just because they don’t like someone in their team.
