It’s been a while since I’ve made a post about the Academy Gaming PvP tournaments. Here’s a little bit of information on where I’m going with the weekly and reinstating the European side of things.

North America

The North American scene is still going strong with our Free Agency and premade teams. If you’re without a team, you can signup solo and be paired with four other people to play against another Free Agent team in the first round.

Most of our teams that participate are premades, so there is still plenty of competition. We also restrict all Pro League players (that have participated in more than 3 weeks) from participating.

Time: 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST on Wednesdays

Prizing:

• 1st: 2k gems per player + mini llama
• 2nd: 800 gems per player + mini llama
• Winning a single set: Mini llama per player

Brief Rulings:

• No class stacking
• All players are required to use the Academy Gaming Teamspeak (listed on Battlefy)

Europe

Europe has been on a break for a while now but is being brought back to life! The European region will allow any and all teams to participate. Solo signups are currently not allowed at this time, but will be brought into play in the coming weeks.

I’ve decided to allow everyone into this competition due to the lack of participation in any EU weekly at all. We’ll need as many teams as possible to try to bring a weekly back in the mix.

Haha, well are you talking about EU or NA? EU is coming back at the same time it was in the past.

The stream start time is generally an hour after it begins, but could take longer depending on how many teams sign up.

Question,

We use to see the PvP AG tournaments at the top of the PvP page. Is there a reason GW2 took it down?

I feel Anet should show the GW2 tournaments on the actual GW2 forum page, just seems odd to me.

I’m not sure if it really grabbed any players/viewership anyhow.

I agree but GW2 should have the PvP info/games/ ability to watch games on the actual GW2 forum. The AG games tend to be more exciting anyways and i didnt even know they were still running.

Why you do this EU?

EU will be back next week with a pugquest format. Unfortunately no one wants to sign up as a team on EU. Well..only a few teams.

So no pro league teams then? Sad day.
