Q:
Since you need to play at least two professions to advance with the PvP achievements I wondered if the rating I get with my main profession transfers to other professions (which I barely play in PvP and don’t know how to handle properly). What about League points? They play a role in matchmaking on different professions, too?

If I remember correctly, months ago ANet said they would be introducing profession-based MMR, and then some weeks after they supposedly did, said they hadn’t done it yet. Whether they have or not, it is account bound.
Again, profession-based MMR is tracked, but not used.
account , there is a post by Anet floating out there somewhere.
You have a 2 core account MMR values (one for unranked, one for ranked), as well as 2 MMR values for each profession (again, split by queue). Your effective rating when queuing is 1/4th of your specific profession’s MMR and 3/4ths of your core MMR. Ranked matchmaking seems to take your league division into account, but I’m not sure if it takes the tier your on or how many pips you have into calculations.

I have a strong suspicion that it does. When I hit Sapphire 3, the number of games I’d be getting had a dramatic drop-off, suggesting that I was no longer getting queued with Emerald 1.

Ok thanks, I should probably do some unranked dry runs then.
