Hi,

I have a necromancer and he wants the dry bones set, which the wiki tells me is one rank above what I am now.

Wat is the best way to go about getting the set? Should I save up all my favor from rank 11 to 20 and buy a bunch of rank 20 gold boxes, hoping to get all six pieces? I’ve salvaged most of what I’ve looted, except the pieces I like, and never gotten an arcane sliver which I would need to craft the set.

I have two pieces of Devout gear in my collection. I thought I wanted that set until i saw dry bones. If I salvage it, are arcane slivers a chance or a certainty? Is there a better way to get items? Can I melt common PvP gear in the mystic forge to try and upgrade it, like I melt greens for yellows in lions arch?

Save up til 20 then blow it all. Salvage everything you don’t want and try to get slivers

Save all your glory for rank 20. Buy a bunch of Gold Dolyak loot chests. Salvage them all. You should get enough Slivers to make a full set.

On a side note, the set’s shoulder graphics are actually attached to the helm. You can wear any shoulders you want and the helm graphic will cover them up completely. You can save yourself a Sliver that way, if you’re so inclined.

Also, in PvE/WvW, the identical looking set is called Shadow and it’s level 20. You can buy a whole set of it for like 3 silver off the trading post and transmute it onto your level 80 gear, if you care at all about that side of the game. Enjoy!

Debating blowing my glory on some stuff.. i’m currently only rank 12. The really cool stuff isn’t until you get up past 30 so I’m thinking it’s not really worth saving my glory all the way until then? Thoughts?

Well you will probably have enough glory if you spend all now, still you have 18 lvls to go, but if there are no sets that you like in current tier, I’d suggest waiting, since its just a waste that way.

I was under the impression that items from gold chest have a much higher chance to salvage into silvers where as the bronze 200pt boxes almost always will transmute into just dust. Is this still the case or has it been disproved?

also @Leadfoot the easiest way to get to the cool looking gear at lower ranks is free tournament chests. Only need to win once, not too hard
