Add survival mode in PvP
….WHY DIDNT ANYONE SUGGEST THIS EARLIER. ANET, SCRAP STRONGSHET AND MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
Also, a suggestion to add on, what about having random power ups all over the map. These power ups spawn at random locations. This will be done to avoid bunker and ai builds just camping a corner. Trap builds will have incentive to scout out prime locations and booby trap the hell out of them. The buff lasts long enough to be able to stack with a second power up, but expire after half the duration of the second has been used up.

because some dude just hide and stealth all day
But if your hiding in stealth all day, you’re not getting kills. If you aren’t getting kills, you aren’t going to win. Camp stealth all day if it makes you happy, but that’s just sad and boring.
I thought thus was going to be for a hoard mode then. 5 people holding off greater numbers of mobs. That would be good. And when your dead you are dead.

I think a great way to address stealth in such a mode would be remove it from profession skills/combos and add brush like they did with the Halloween corn field game mode. As for camping in the brush, make entering it infest you with mosquitos that slowly drain your health in increasing amounts until you get out of the brush and put a small debuff on you like the hammer from the boss in the colossal fractal that slowly wears off even after exiting.
Make some hunting grounds like that and it could be a lot of fun. Honestly I wish they had more maps the were focused on environmental control conquest is really boring and watching stronghold is no different from conquest, zergs and zergs.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
So basically, add a permanent version of Lunatic Inquisition.

That’s a great idea.
Just add a time limit to the match to ensure stealthing isn’t a viable draw strategy.
No.
Because 1v1 doesn’t suit Gw2 eSport development.

Lol, gw2 and esport in the same sentence. You mean that zerg fest at mid I see every season? Even the sponsors are boring to listen to, nothing about it has excited me one bit since launch.

Neither it ever did interest or excite me.
The only thing worthy to jump on Tournament stream is stream chat.
Everything else is just irrelevant.
Anyway,
The reason why they won’t make and won’t balance stuff – because they don’t care.
The moment one of the devs jump in and started talking about his metrics and made look as if playerbase feedback matters not, then it was already clear in which way and how PvP will develop further.
First there was a strong feedback regarding the idea of not fusing SoloQ and TeamQ due to how imbalanced it will become.
Did they listen or took our feedback into consideration? – Nope.
Thanks to that, loads of PvP players left.
We gave feedback how bad and unbalanced new Queue system is – Nope, they didn’t care.
Now, we have a feedback how Burn and Power scale vs armor currently, and how bad it is – Nope, people are jumping from Ranked/Unranked to Private Daily/Rankfarm.
Every single time, no response to important issues, no response to important matters – Zero communication.
But, go and make a thread how great devs are, and how thankful you are to them for a Game, then they’ll jump on it with smileys like a hungry horde of Crows.

Which people only played for achievements because it was so boring.
Do you know who would win survival mode? A super tanky necro which is unkillable in 1v1. Then once everyone starts playing one, the mode gets incredibly boring and isn’t played.
I think lunatic inquisition was that maze was it not? I was hopeing for more of that game mode where you had a pop gun of sorts and tried to gather some material for your graveyard to spawn skeletons which would attack the enemy base. THAT game mode had the perfect stealth idea, so a game mode based on survival didn’t come down to some stealth based profession blowing you up in 2 seconds.
Still, I can see how imbalance some builds would be since gw2 doesn’t have any attention towards 1v1 balancing.

Survival mode is survival, not death match lol…
All you would need to do is stealth all day, wait for everyone else to kill eachother and instagib the last one standing to win… Everyone would most likely be thief or mesmer.
….. And Elementalist.
Add an eerie ruins map and add a survival where we still use our builds and weapons but itstead of capture the point it will be elimination – maybe even a 1v1 survival where you are put in a easy to navigate maze and you essentially hunt down one another.
no, thiefs win
Isn’t that just already an activity called Southsun Survival.
There is power up, you can camp in stealth or in corner, you get point only by going in and killing people ^^

That game mode is really nice.
But it’s long and reward is not adequate to time spent there.

Thing is, you aren’t actually scoring points. We could add a snowballing effect that allows a person on a killing streak to generate a minor stat boost each time he kills someone, similar to the animal buffs on niflhel. Make it reward active players of the mode. There are tons of ways you could discourage stealth camping.
Or we could have the map behave like the maze in maze runner and have it rotate every one minute and then basically calling a target on everyone’s head that puts them on the minimap and forces a 10s reveal to keep players from accidentally/purposely avoiding each other. Players who collude will suffer some sort of MMR penalty. Add in a little twist at the end when there are only two people left. Give them some sort of a timer with an auto kill debuff that will proc after a certain amount of time to kill them both at the same time and give the win to the guy in third place if they don’t get the job done in less than half of the time remaining on the clock (could potentially lead to some very close calls if matches drag on and the debuff gives them like 30s to off each other, but then you’d see some serious try hardiness with all of the CDs being popped).
