Hey guys,

I’m going to keep the intro brief because I can never push through those long intros people have on stuff like this and then I end up leaving the page.

I just wanted there to be a productive post that serves to help with all of the complaints on build diversity. I main Mesmer and wanted to share some of the builds that I have been using. I don’t want this to only be a Mesmer topic, so post your alternative builds and I can add them to the top (if worthy).

I would prefer if those that suggest builds compete at high levels because I don’t want this to become a useless page with bunker thief, turret engi like stuff.

I hope competitive players add to this list, because it would increase the diversity of the playerbase and could help be constructive with some of the issues out there.

Remember: the key to alternative builds is to change your play-style along with the build. Play-style is what defines build diversity imo.

Mesmer:

• This is my goto non-meta build atm. So strong against DH, but you have to be wary of thieves farming you.
• Spikes just like the old shatter mes, but with condi cleanse which is what it lacked before.
• Alternative is to run Dom over inspiration. In which I would go mauraders.

• Mistrust stacks soooo much confusion. It is really fun, but doesn’t have the sustain that the meta build does. Playstyle with this changes so you have to pick and choose 1v1s, use portal like a shatter mesmer, and focus on +1’ing. Save AOE rupts for ideal situations like downed bodies (I’ve stacked 40 confusion on the whole other team this way.)
• Can take ‘Master of Fragmentation’ over ‘Ineptitude’ for another AoE rupt if you so please.

• This core mesmer build is also really fun. Vipers amulet with the GS is just a really unique, fun combination. This build allows for plenty of condi remove, but lacks utility due to no chronomancer.
• Centaur’s amulet combined with mantra heal helps with the awefully slow feeling of core mesmer after having chronomancer’s speed boost.
• This build has the potential to stack a lot of condis as well as burst dmg.

Mainly set up to be a nasty surprise during team fights. Loses some sustain but does absolutely wonderfully for ground control and burst, as well as cleaving downed.
