Where is toughness/crit damage/power for example? Hell, even soldier mod isn’t available (toughness/precision/power) wtf? Why… This limits already limited amount of builds in the game.

Fact: every Thief tells you to “l2p” when the subject is to nerf stealth.

Since there are no “build templates,” this was done to allow people to quickly change to a different playstyle without having to spend several minutes changing every piece of equipment or being confused by sub-optimal stat choices (for example, Power/toughness/crit damage might be an awesome compliment to a certain trait selection for a certain profession, but for most builds it would be awful.)

Now, a lot of people are asking for more options/customization. However, there’s one option that wouldn’t be healthy for PvP (namely, tough/vit/healing) and so some players say there should be no more combinations at all to be certain we avoid this bad one.

Soldier is Power/Thoughness/Vitality and it’s available.

Soldier is Power/Thoughness/Vitality and it’s available.

The OP is thinking of the PvE Knight’s set, which is high toughness/medium power/medium precision. I think that would be a great set for PvP. We might even see balanced power builds for the warrior and necro become viable. Right now, if you want any toughness AT ALL, you can’t get decent offense with it. Why is everyone surprised people are running full bunker/full burst?

Choosing some stupid amulet plays a greater role in customizing your avatar then all passive and active traits you chose in a trait tree. Laughable, may as well get rid of traits completely and put it all on different class specific amulets.

Yeah was referring to pve’s knight mod. Did we get any words if/when they’ll be adding new amulets? Because i was doing lots spvp yesterday (for once lol) and when i asked this in map chat everyone answered with “it will make builds OP” lol wtf kind of answer is that? You’re supposed to have flexible builds (everything tied up to amulets sucks in my opinion and i can’t even run exactly what i want for example) people talk about OP when i asked for mods who should’ve been there from day one already…

Umm, tough/vit/healing/condi is four stats, so you don’t have to worry about that combination coming up, since PvP amulets only have three stats on them. We could stand a tough/vit/condi amulet, though.

There is only one stat combination that would “ruin” things—toughness/vit/healing. As long as we avoid that, we’re fine. I don’t understand why everyone is opposed to all other stat combinations because bunkers. The reason bunkers exist is because there’s not really any other way to get toughness in your build at all except to go full bunker. Some new amulets could change that.

Instead of pvp amulets you should be given certain amount of stat points during lvl up or when you go to mists to pvp to allocate as you see fit, all offense, all defense or balanced build allocation, and not some pvp amulet with some predetermined allocation that someone thinks is good for you.More choice you have while customizing your character the better its mmoRPG not some online shooter with predetermined loadouts.

Have you ever seen how hard a torch ranger hits with conditions? If they just had healing power and toughness over that they would start a river of tears floating all through the forums. And some amulents have more than 3 stats, go look.

A toughness/condi/healing amulet already exists, it’s called shaman’s. I’m not denying that shortbow/sword-torch condi rangers are deadly, I’m just saying that adding a couple new stat choices that made more balanced builds would not make them gods all of a sudden.

I suppose we could get into 4-stat amulets with all the stats lowered, but there’s already celestial if you want a little of everything and nobody likes it. There’s also zerker’s and rampager’s, but I don’t see any complaints about those?

But nobody complains about zerker because it has a major drawback and running it makes you glassy as can be. Opening up more mods would mean less draw backs and more complaining

Just add PvE/WvW Knight’s so people can choose something other than Bunker and Glass Cannon. Want to go balance? Pow/Pre/Vit and get wrecked. That might be good for some builds, but Pow/Pre/Tuf allows so many more builds that you see in WvW/PvE that people would like to use, but can’t for no reason. You wonder why more people don’t play sPvP? Silly things like this.

So what are the main choices now? Pow/Pre/Crit for damage and Pow/Vit/Tuf for bunker. Why use Pow/Pre/Vit for damage when you’ll get shredded from no Toughness anyway? Might as well go full glass with Pow/Pre/Crit and try to burst before you’re hit. So now you have everyone going burst, and your only balanced damage build is Pow/Pre/Vit which will get destroyed by burst builds. You can die instantly with Pow/Pre/Vit, or survive a while with Pow/Tuf/Vit and deal little damage, but at least you don’t drop dead.

People wonder why its all burst/bunker when the only choices you give are burst/bunker (minus some condition/support specs).
