Was just wondering if you (Anet) could give the PvP community a straightforward answer on addressing the powercreep introduced with elite specializations. Will they ever be brought in line with the core specs to keep build diversity intact? Or are they, being ‘elite’ supposed to fill the role of a mandatory choice in order to remain competetive. No disparagement intended, would simply love an honest answer.

They addressed build diversity didn’t you see their PVP update where they state they wanted to change build diversity effective by adding amulets?

Answer: They could care less about core specs or even balance lol.

PvP in this game will be forever trash. ANet has decided braindead skill spam of elite specs is the way to go. Next expansion will just power creep more. I doubt anyone will be around for a third expansion by then.

The problem I see is that some elites actually “fix” poor class design. It’s not all about power creep but it’s about game mechanics. Can you imagine the revenant without herald/dragon? Or can you imagine core ranger standing a chance against other core classes? Ranger and necro were a joke for the past 3 years. Not because of nerfs. Their design makes them difficult to balance. ANet did buff them in the past and we can all remember the major QQs that were happening in here, thus they gave the ranger a support role, and a dps role to the necro. They overdid it with the chill damage so they toned it down.

As someone who never played necro I thought they’d buff necro greatsword, i’ve never seen one gs necro. I think it looks cool.

And from the core classes I can see thieves standing out and not because of power creeps but because most thief are mechanically superior to other players, and daredevil isn’t bringing all that much to the thief spec.

They don’t respond to stuff like this. Be a lickspittle though and talk about how great it was to be in a spvp match with them and how it shows they want to learn about whats needs to be done yada yada yada and they’ll respond in 2 seconds.

You can’t bunker to win now so good players win.
