Huh? Yday ESL winning team: 1 Cleric, 4 Zerkers/Marauder, clearly Bunker Meta.
Celestial shoutbow warrior and celestial rifle engineer basically got pushed out of the meta (nerfs to sustain, yet same time the burst dmg was buffed). Celestial elementalist is still very much viable and overpowered, but besides that there isn’t many hybrid builds.
It is natural if a hybrid/celestial is more or less dead, then most players either go burst/dps or full bunker. My prediction is that with current traits and skills most top teams will run 2-3 bunkers (bunker guardian and elementalist, might also try bunker engineer) and 2-3 burst (mesmer + thief). 1 burst stun lock warrior e.g. using hammer/GS is meta. All the burst professions will use marauder or zerker amulet. In unranked spvp marauder/zerker clearly is the flavor of the week!
For months people were complaining that so many used the celestial amulet. Now we have the same situation that a lot of players use the same amulet, but it just has a different name and stats. In other words: diversity didn’t change much.
You didn’t even mention guardian.
Still not nearly as bunk as the previous meta, and Glass Cannons are still quite a bit stronger to walk around with these days in PvP. The amount of traits granting ‘%’ based increases in damage directly or conditionally increased thanks to merges and reallocations of traitlines.
If anything, Toughness needs just a slight push / buff to make things good, as in Toughness above 2.8k needs about a 10% more damage reduction.

GW2 PvP had gone full circle. After the specialization update everyone and their mother went for full damage, just like back in the 2012 release of the game. Guess what meta came after the zerker one?

well conquest map, you should be able to hold area till someone help you. attrition also is a strategy. if you wanted people just bursting each other you should just play courtyard, and see what really is the boring one.

Thief is doesn’t hit for that much. I find it easier to deal with them as well post patch but like someone mentioned conquest does promote bunker play I hope they don’t forget to finally add a TDM queue I couldn’t care less about SH.

If the bunker was able to kill you, then it’s not really a “bunker” is it? Remember the guardians of old sitting and camping spots with staff? That was a bunker.
Attrition is a strategy like all others. Not everyone likes the high risk/high reward style of gameplay. You can still burst bunkers down if they get careless. It’s just that now you’re not going to be able to just press a button and win.
I’m still seeing zerker/marauders everywhere besides eles.

I did play bunker guard for couple of games and I never got killed in a 1v1, I don’t think it’s possible really. Bunker specs also gained additional stats, which helps their survability/healing.

His specific complaint is that the bunker killed him!. In which case, I guess it’s not a bunker after all :P

Everyone has been watching that dumb video when a guard was standing still and the Mes had to try several times to try and pull this this off. Trust me I play Mes that combo is not easy to pull off, but either way a whole bunch of skills and definitely conditions need to be toned down. I got consistently spiked down from 21.5K health by a Guard in one PvP match using an unbelievably fast combo that I can only put down to some kind of programmable mouse or macro.
