Anet Awareness
answer this question for me. how do you plan on compensating those who get royally F-ed by players who afk in base or just quit 2 mins into the match when they are trying to play the 10 game placement? seems sorta silly to base MY MMR on quitters and ppl who afk. furthermore if my MMR is MY personal PVP rating, why is it based off of team performance?
Because ANet don’t care about you, me, or anyone else except for their few ESL players they’ve been paying. We are nothing more then content for these players. So it doesn’t matter if or not we have been rightfully judged or not. Either become okay with this, or play another game.
GW2 is not a good game at all to showcase your player skill. Too many faults to even call it competitive. More so when you compare it to the other competitive PvP games that everyone watches. Hmm I wonder why hardly anyone bothers to watch GW2 during it’s Ranked League Season? I don’t know maybe because there is nothing fun or exciting or competitive to watch in GW2.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys
Gotta agree with Reaper. If they do give a kitten , they got a funny way of showing it.

Nice conspiracy theory.
Gw2 is a fine game for skill. Just because you’re salty doesn’t mean the game is broken.

TBH i dont know why anyone woud watch it at all. as far as playing other games, i have. Final Fantasy XIV and FFXV are WAY better than GW2. I had hopes that the new season would be better than the previous ones.
The quitters and afkers have an equal chance to be on the other side as well you know. In fact, I’ve been on the receiving end of it less often.
well having played 5 games for placement so far, i have seen it 4 out of the 5 matches. thats 4 times in a row
Well, I’ve had a few games where one player would leave for about 1 – 2 minutes then come back. Obviously the game is lost but I got – 0 rating.
thats lucky bc ive lost rating many times to quitters and those who come back after being gone for 2 mins. those 4 losses mentioned previously were aprt of the placement matches so they affected my overall start point when calculating my MMR

Correct.
ANet doesn’t have a clue when it comes to PvP. PvE is what they do best. Which is fine, I like PvE! However, they need to stop pretending that PvP is competitive, it’s not, not by a longshot. They want the REPUTATION of competitive PvP without the RESPONSIBILITY. Leagues are nothing more than marketing, period.
Responsibility includes basics, such as fair matchmaking, balance, and establishing a competitive environment, which isn’t limited to just esports, it’s the bread and butter and fundamentals of ANY game. Chess, Poker, these games have rules, structure. They have the credibility to be recognized as competitive games. To establish a competitive environment with MMOs like this one is a monumental task.
What’s worse though, is players themselves. I’m not surprised by pro-leaguers, though. They’re paid apologists for the PvP system, even as they pretend to care about it. Money talks.
Still, the average PvP player and veteran has no reason to defend any of this. You exist to be farmed by the matchmaking system, period. This is what? The FIFTH season now? We still have the SAME problems we had in the first. You call that progress?!
