Anet - TPvP matchmaking working as intended?
These are perfect examples of a flaw in our matchmaking. We are aware of this issue have plans to address it. Thanks for the screenshots!

Enough until we get it through there heads “we need a fix NOW”
attach’ed the same team I played against bullkitten, those guys are 50-400 on leaderboards, when I solo que’ed I was 70% at the time. Played them twice back to back bullkitten solo que.
I think matchmaking works rather well. and sure there are lots of examples of teams playing teams they shouldn’t be. Oh well, in GW1 it used to happen all the time as well, Team ranked 1000 vs team ranked 5. Boo hoo, I mean seriously cry more.
Get a team and play or at least a team of pugs. Because unless there are hundreds of people from all ranks playing at the same time all the time, you will get matchups like this.
Everyone wants a Solo queue, it is an awful idea, and it will kill tpvp. Solo queue should be completely gone, I mean its a team game get a team. If you want to play mby yourself go spvp.

Lol this guy. If you don’t add solo queue the casuals leave. If you do add solo queue the premades who are only good at pug stomping get mad and premade queue times get longer.
Hmm watch the majority of players continue to quit or make the minority of premades upset due to longer queue times and no more pug stomping. Which one is the awful idea again?

As many as there are on lame tournaments only s handful of people give a kitten about
The majority will not quit if you make it worth their while to create teams. Currently there is no reason to have a team, other then people would rather complain on the forums about facing teams.
What we need is a system that existed in old gw (Casual) pvp such as making a solo queue team that wins lets say 5-10 (in a row) matches go into a premade queue (what was known as team arenas in gw1 when 5 random ppl just stomp all other random groups that go into a “premade” arena after about [20 in a row if I remember correctly]). Overall we need some type of progressing to winning in tpvp (ahem. HA) where top teams reach the top and lower teams vs lower teams fight to reach the top.
I do agree some sort of progression is needed.
Current matchmaking system.
: system registers 10 people queued for tpvp :
: ignores any information about them :
: sticks them together randomly (unless they’re in a party, in which case pair them up with any 5 people queued, regardless of party or not :

For that to make sense, the game has to be worth it.
GW1 was.
GW2 isn’t.
you will have no arguement from me that GW1 was much more dynamic then gw2. However in this day and age and with how large scale these games are, they have to be released long before they are actually ready. There is just too much time and money needed to release games in a finished state anymore. it is the case for every MMO, they are all always in a state of being finished/fix.
There is nothing more important at the moment then splitting solo and premade queue (like the vote on the other thread showed)
It is absolutely ridiculouis that you still didtn split it till now. The premade team has so many advantages from the beginning of the match that it is just stupid to allow a mixed queue.
The only one who dont want to seperate the queues are the bad premades who enjoy stomping pugs. But like always in this forum (the same people usually cry about other classes) you shouldn’t listen to them.
So plz hurry arenanet.

Don’t be so quick to destroy premade queing just so you have a more convenient time playing the game…
You do realize that premade ques would just turn out like paid tournies did, right?
The issue is quite obviously in a different place… it KILLS ME to see so many people screaming their heads off for a split que, something that would hurt another portion of people playing the game… when quite obviously this is an issue based around there being no divide between ranked and unranked play. Oh and being qued with similarly glorly-lvl’d players for the first 20-30 ranks would help.
Anyways, other MMOs had ‘so many advantages’ for being a premade, you had the right amount of heals/dps/tanks and high geared as well as skilled players.
In GW2 build diversity won’t utterly make or break a pug game.
In GW2 there is no gear gap.
GW2 is near entirely an individual skill based game.
The worst divide between premade and pug is that you can avoid the kittenty asz queing throwing bad players on your side.

The masses are great at pointing out that there is a problem.
I mean absolutely wonderful at it, if they have issues they will let anyone and everyone know.
BUT they are terrible at pinpointing the specifics and suggesting fixes.
That’s just the way it is.
A few centuries ago everyone believed that gods sat on clouds and erupted volcanoes on people; like a person vainly MagnifyingGlass-smiting any ants that look at him funny.
People are fickle and love jumping to easy answers.

Same here mate, I also end up against those who just won against me and my pug group so we keep losing. As it is now the tpvp is just a more profitable part of normal spvp. I don’t want the ticket system again, but a fair matchmaking system, where pugs go against pugs and premades against premades would be a lot less frustrating, since premades have a high advantage over pugs and thats voice chat. They dont waste time typing and that can be a win factor against us.
they have probably been waiting for lfg system to be ready

What the kitten is up with people???
Gladly willing to destroy premade queing just so they have a more convenient time playing the game…

are you kidding?
first of all, the majority of the game (ANY game) is made up of casuals, if they don’t hurry up splitting queues, you’ll be left with 50 people playing pvp (even less in NA, probably). Also, when I still had a team, I hated playing against soloers, easy games are boring.
Then, in this game entering as a premade has so many advantages: voice communication, team setup (good luck trying to win with a team made up of 3 thieves and 2 necros against a team with 1 bunker 1 off-bunker and 3 roamers, for example)

So that means that the devs should help them with half bake plans, plans that hurt everyone else?
I don’t really see how talk about “there’s gonna be no one left if they don’t fix this!!” actually makes sense. People said that months ago, and it already happened.
GW2 is in the gutters when it comes to a TPvP population and only seeming half alive because Anet is gasping for a last breath with this push for Esports… in a game not even mildly capable of them.
But yeah the majority of casuals, along with everyone else, who played GW2 are annoyed by it, no that typically isn’t because of just bad matchmaking.
Ugh, have you played another MMO? like WAR?
Having no/too few healers or being terribly outgeared is an instant loss… even if they are bad players.
That game survived, actually thrived for 4~ years.
GW2 was dying after 6~ months, with a dozen times the hype and dedicated fallowing at launch.
In GW2, yes a terrible team comp can hurt, but it won’t utterly make or break a game to even half the degree it did in WAR.
The issue is that the gameplay just isn’t good enough to carry mediocre->bad matchmaking.
For the downsides, how much fun is gleaned from the game just doesn’t end up being worth it, on both the casual/competent player sides, so ends in frustration and desertion.
I guess what it comes down to then is, for this broken bone, do you want a bandaide filled with salt? just a bandaide?
Or…. to actually fix it…

WAR died 15 days after release, what are you talking about lol
there is a reason it was called failhammer, worst mmorpg ever (before swtor came out, of course)

I dont know about you guys,
But I think I just hit my limit of letting this matchmaking system abuse my gameplay mood.
I am not playing anymore tpvp until they fixed this.
Goodluck to all Solo queuers out there.
May the level 1 be with you.
