Anet's flawed logic
Just assign wins to the higher MMR team please.
Funny thing is this is what the ELO Players asked for they got it.
The system is currently in disequilibrium, this will resolve itself over time. After X games, our final division placement should be an accurate reflection of our MMR. That is, most people will get lots of even matches eventually.

If they are still playing, this only works if everyone keeps playing till the 18th of April. I will bet not everyone who started the league will still be playing by then. But hay I’m gonna take a guess that you are riding the win wave and see no problem with the “bads” getting stomped and should not be playing ranked.

Yup i use to play 20-40 games a day. Now i play 1-5 and if i lose 3 of those in a row i go to wvw. Most my time is spent in wvw now. Until i remember how broken wvw is. Then i will probably just go back to league or Eve or mortal haven’t decided.

This is not the case because you cannot go down divisions. People who winning streaked up during the imbalance will not sink back down again.

…it’s really w/e…people will only shoot 1 division above their “actual” skill level at most, and they will hit wall

I suppose it depends on how you define equilibrium. Would noone playing be an equilibrium to you?
In fact this is a very difficult statement to make with certainty, if your not using totalisms, or making a trivial semantec argument. You have an open system not a closed one, in which there could be many new players entering the PvP competition while you’re supposedly arriving at this equlibrium, and you could have folks leaving the system from frustration, or having gotten the rank they need for their legendary or whatever.
Please demonstrate how you are sure that an equilibrium must necessarily be reached, and by what standard you are measuring the thing which is being equilibri-ized

The problem is that X is a fairly large number (like 100 at least) and players don’t play or think in increments of 100 games, they play and think 1 game at a time.
Even though player might consciously know that their mmr and matchmaking will even out over time, that’s a poor consolation for a 500-100 game.
The crux of the issue is deciding whether you want ranked to accurately reflect skill or whether you want ranked to be enjoyable. Being fair and feeling fair are not always the same.

you say “ranked to accurately reflect skill”. all pitting high mmr teams against low mmr teams prove is that 5 good players are better than 5 bad players. do you really need a tournament for that?

Someone somewhere seems to think so.

It is strange that Anet said nothing so far. Wish they would communicate wether they change the matchmaking or not.

People would leave at a higher rate if they came out and said “this is the way we wanted it not going to change.” And i don’t think they want to lose all that money.

They demonstrated over and over how obtuse they are when confronted with their (numerous) failings. Why should this instance be any different?

Tell me, how does a computer program determine skill?
The simple fact of the matter is that it’s impossible for any system to determine skill right out of the gate, it takes dozens and dozens of matches to determine where a player’s skill is at.
Under the current system good players will invariably exit the pip range of the bad players, and the bad matchups will become rarer and rarer.

Blame the premade.
Premade party only counts their highest ranked player.

It will not. Because people are quitting.
People that got stuck quit, which cause other people to get stuck because there is nobody left they can beat. they quit too. This also apply to queue times, more people quit the longer the queue time and more people quit.
You can already see this happening and the season is pretty much done.

^THIS. The season is done, stick a fork in it. Everyone go play unranked if you want LEGIT competition.
