After hearing the last StoG for September, I feel the urge to make a collection of all famous’s quotes of Anet’s developers and with the action they take that we find completely opposite to what they said in the last 1 year. The purpose is to let Anet knows how far,far away from the truth of the game from their point of view, and how disconnect from them with the PvP community. I will need people help with this collection. All credits go to its respectively poster.
I will start:
-" We don’t want a whack-a-mole balance". In order to nerf the triple Cantrip Eles bunker build Survivability, Anet went and nerf our mobility instead (RtL from 15s to 20s to 40s on miss). We want more Survivability, Necro said. Here is Duhmfire, Anet gave.
-“I see most of Eles stay only in 1 or 2 Attunements, mainly fire”. I have not seen any action regarding this comment, but as for now my action is /facepalm….
-“We want GW2 be an Esport”..Chaos meta, huge imbalance between class, only one game-style mode, poor player base, competitively players dropping out..ESPORT!!!!!

Ill add, gear progression one of the main selling points of GW2 for me and others.
Enter ascended crafting grindfest….. much more difficult and costly then it should be.

No, he’s inviting an idiotic discussion that will end up with people ridiculing anet with out of context quotes. This is a toxic thread, op knows its a toxic thread, therefor infraction is coming 90%.

I think it is good that the PR bullkitten is separated from what actually was implemented. They have, clearly stated they want the game to be esports and failed miserabely, flopped like a bad movie. And this is mostly because of certain obviously stupid design choices, so of course it will be ridiculed. You know, mockery has it’s place too.
Everyone knows this game’s pvp is not in the best of the spots, but what are you expecting to accomplish with these kind of threads?
Same could be asked about anet’s balance pathces xD. Or basically about everything they have implemented into spvp the last 12 months. Sorry for saying it loud.

Somewhere in the past after the big patch, I recalled hearing “If Necro is so OP, why we don’t see one team goes with 5 Necro and win!!!” (from Anet)…Holly kitten !!!! And no action has been done from Anet to fix this madness up to now.
Anet admit Skyhammer and Spirit watch should not be in the map rotation for tournament. After removing them from Team Q tournament, just to add them to SoloQ tournament. Apparently, Anet think SoloQ is not tournament environment.

It’s lucky forums users aren’t held accountable of the idiotic things they sometimes write as much as they hold Anet accountable.
- I am basing nobody. I simply stating the fact that they don’t put their work where their mouth is. They have broken so many promise and yet no apologise or any action from them to show that they are trying to correct it. It is ok to screw up. It is ok to not make thing perfectly. However, it is NOT ok to screw thing up, make broken promise, without letting us know what is going on and most of all, NO kitten things have been done to correct. They brought this upon themselves.

This is a toxic thread. Taking quotes out of context, stating “facts” out of context, to give a message that is untrue. If you don’t like the game, don’t play it. No game is perfect, and since Anet gives us a monthly review on the things that need improvement, I can say for sure, that we can either believe they will make the game better, or not. If you think that the devs are the problem, then you have nothing to hope for, therefore, leave. You wont “wake up” the devs, being at the other side of things is not as simple as the playerbase thinks, and balancing is the hardest thing to do in a game, even harder in a mmorpg, they are doing very good at that task, and I, like many others, believe in the potential of the game, and in the skill of the devs to solve the problemas, and perfect their creation. Go ridiculize your mom if you want, somewhere else.

That is simple entitlement, the bane of this gaming generation. You don’t love the game, what you love is what you thought it would be. You don’t need to love the game to play it. You are not a martyr either, don’t talk like you are. All you DID (what you wanted to do is irrelevant) was making a thread to make fun of quotes of devs on streams. Devs cannot undo what they’ve done, cannot change the past, but the way this industry works is that, you learn. They’ve learnt, and they will keep learning. All you could expect to get by making fun of them for what they say, is that they stop saying things. Is that what you want? Because you are not making them smarter or brighter with your jokes on quotes.
If you truly loved the game, and you think all what you think is smarter and better for it, you’ll be addressing them with respect, trying to convince them that your ideas are good. You don’t bash your head to the door to open it, you don’t make fun of someone to make him agree with you.
I think they’ve been very perceptive of what people ask, and in the past, that made the game go in a wrong direction (fotm builds, nerfs, etc) Now they want to be more conservative on the changes, with the term “shaving”, and that is good for the game. They even give the time to talk about what they think, about what they want with the game, they give the playerbase undeserved respect. While other gaming companies wont even answer to you. If you think they have to do everything the geniouses of forum say, then they should no longer be called devs. Listening to the public is a part of the job, but is not all of it. Your ideas, my ideas, everyone else’s ideas, are just opinions, of people that don’t carry the burden of balancing the game, they can take them if they like them, but they should not be forced to. It’s fine to ask, but just that.
Very well though in a nice manner, I give you credit for that. It is good to be optimistic but please be honest with me, what part or what sign from them that makes you think they have learnt their lesson? I am no Esper,, I can not read people mind, I judge people based on their action and their speech. Comments such as “Guardian not survival well enough, Once S/D thief being taken care of-Eles will be in good state,Most Eles they see only use 1 or 2 Attunements, most is fire…” can not help but make me think they are making a fool of our PvP community, especially Eles community. I don’t know how much you understand Eles as well as how much thought you think about these comment. What I am thinking about Eles after hearing such comment are :
1/A class that heavily relied on boons to be mediocre. Without boon, they are nothing more than bug. Fail core mechanic.
2/A class that has to invest 90% in defence to be playable. Fail design.
3/A class that they afraid to make overhaul of it because they think new players don’t make full potential yet of the class..Seriously?
What about Necro with Corrupt Boon?What about CC Warrior can kill us in 2s?What about Thief can kill us just by spamming skill? What about our offensive and defensive?What about our mobility?What about our Conjure Broken Set? What about our Staff as well as focus?….
There are many many problems that is going on but that is all they can see in Eles ? As much as I want to see myself to be wrong, all I can think of is these one are so EPIC FAIL.
Respect is something you earn not because you have it because of your status. At first, I give them a lot of respect, because they have created such awesome game ever. However, patch after patch, I start losing,losing respect to them. How many time have you expected the patch and in the end, all that left is your jaw on the floor and empty sadness as well as broken promise? How many time you want to see you wrong for being so disappointed at them, just to prove you are right at the end? How many time you expect the game gonna be better, just to be worse and worse? How many time you asked yourself : “kitten , the game could be better and they screw up”? How long have you raised the dream that Gw2 will be Esport before giving up?
Also, have you noticed the trend of Devs’s post? It is like a wave in the sea,come and gone. They are very active when things go downhill and so much serious going on too much and then suddenly disappear when thing starts to settle down. That is what I see for the last few month of Devs active, save for Allies.
Talking so much, but I really hope, I really wish, I really do I will be the one who is wrong this time.. Prove it to me,Anet, once and for all.

Experience shows that reasonable suggestions, logical arguments and good manners are inefficient.
People here are just gettin frustrated of banging their heads against a wall.
Now they want to tear it down.
I tried to stay respectful for quite a while, but now I don´t see a reason to.
Respect is inefficient → change strategy and see if it helps. Rinse and repeat until the correct method is found.
So many mistakes of the balancing team have been predicted and warned from by the community. Still they were implemented.
Ignorance has to be punished, its like with bullies in schools. After talking sense to them for a few years you notice you CAN NOT reason with them.
But how do you punish the ignorance of someone who is much larger, muscular and merciless then you?
Toxic threads are no solution, but I see why people do this.
They see no other way. They hope they can wake up the developers by kicking them over and over again.
