Anet what is the goal with dragonhunter
They buffed the healing scaling on the base virtue, meaning more value out of healing power. From that and trying to buff signet of courage so it isn’t worthless it seems they’re trying to bring back core bunker guard.
Don’t cry, Signet of Mercy. Others may forget you, but I will always remember.
Our deficiencies may be overcome by practice and self-discipline.
We gonna do this song and dance again?
Do realize that those changes only affect Base Guardian Virtues. Also the change to Piercing Light’s daze being gone means no more random interrupts happening when you trigger traps, just slow condi, so if anything DH did get nerfed in terms of CC.

I dont think they are done with balance patches. They said they’d be toning some sort of base utility down on guard and all they did was remove the silence. Meta guard only uses 1-2 traps.

2-3 traps since every DH i’ve ran into always slots Shards of Faith trait. (Stunbreak trap when CC’d.)

The goal is balancing for skill.
the blind is dodgeable and blockable as well as the daze. The trap heals 10k/17.5k. As others said the buff was to base guardian. Now the base virtue of resolve almost heals as much as wings, lolz
When reading a post by Poelala remember 2 things:
1: He cries about every other class being op while tempest is weak. His threads are titled “Rebound is the worst elite in the game” and “Tempest sucks anet doesn’t care”.
2: He doesn’t understand the game mechanics.
The stuff he is crying about now will not affect DH. Even the QQ about the healing trap is pointless since anyone can shut it down after the first heal and destroy the skill.
They want 5 Dhs per team in solo Q instead of 3. I think its kinda obvious at this point
DH got 0 buffs. Only buffs were to core guard. OP knows nothing. Move along.
You’re all wrong, it’s about me. They knew I loved the core Guardian but hated the Dragonhunter and they figured out how to get me, finally. Well played Anet.
Core guardian virtues were buffed, the DH ones remain the same, with the added bonus that traps do not daze anymore and apply slow instead.
That said, slow is so deadly on this meta that anyone not running diamond skin or mallyx might as well give up on teamfights, the spam is too much to channel anything.

The change from daze to cripple is a huge nerf dont kid yourself.

Wrong…2 or 3 with the trap trait. So the change is a hudge nerf.
Buffing the ridiculous signet unusable and the virtues that are useless as vanilla guards are not viable will not change anything.

It is not criplle it is slow. Slow is slowering your casts and not tour movements.

As a DH myself its a good change pitty that this skills are limited to pvp only.

LoL just the usual DH player, defending its broken class yet dont know the dif between cripple and slow…

The DH builds i’ve seen and played as a main guardian only has 2 traps with the traited trap. So, they either have the traited trap, or the longer/wider f3. I don’t know many good guardians who run Dragon’s Maw or Procession of Blades anymore. People are learning to just dodge when they see a trap go off, and not standing in the blades trap anymore. So the only one that’s any good still is Test of Faith, where they bounce you back and forth across it. Which honestly, the only way to ‘fix’ DH issues in pvp, is to change that static damage, to a condi tick. If they lower the damage, the trap becomes useless in many standpoints, as it is, it’s only used in raids when a DH has nothing better to do as it’s a free trap (Normally they use Retreat or Wall of Reflection) or in PVP as the main source of their spike. Which Stability will cure most of. It’s not like every class and their brother already doesn’t have access to it. Just swap 1 utility skill out for something with stability if you see the DH loading in or you don’t have it already.

I’m guessing you’re either leaving out Purification because it’s a healing skill, or forgot about it? The standard I’ve seen most in DHs are Purification, Test of Faith, and the trait on being CC’d (Shards of Faith.) So 2-3 traps. Dragon maw is used in PVE for Breakbar damage and Procession of Blades for more DPS as well in PVE. I understand that bit for PVE, what I notice though in PVP is only newer and/or lower tier players use Dragon’s Maw in PVP, either that or they’re testing or very confident the enemy team isn’t exactly competent.

No, by 2 traps he meant Purification and Test of Faith. Shards of Faith is technically a trap but most people don’t include it when referring to how many traps are on their skill bar.
They nerfed DH (daze removal is highly welcome) and buffed core – i see no problem here.

Actually no he was correct, I wasn’t counting the heal trap, as I don’t use it. I see more use out of shelter as it allows you to survive longer while waiting on spike cooldown, or to remove yourself from combat/avoid a spike. Not many people understand to apply any (next moves are unblockable) skills. If they did, less people would cry for DH nerf. Warrior/Rev both have easy access to them off the top of my head with shiro and signet.
