Now I am on the fence about this subject, but i’ve seen people mention this subject before.
The animations in the game
The animations in this game are very flashy when it comes to spell effects, but not during casting. When I am playing in lets say spvp and there is a full team vs team battle, there are so many flashing things on my screen and clones everywhere that I can’t even tell who is who and what they are casting. It is very hard to time my stuns to prevent casting unless the times are insanely long or very easy to tell.
The animations while spell casting seem to be one sided. Some classes have very obvious animations. Engineer, Some guardian spells (these seem to lost long enough and he usually raises his weapon in the air) while others seem to be less obvious.
Finally everything is instant it seems like. Some power spells that do lots of damage or something that is considered good has a really small sometimes no casting time. One on one fights, its a different story, but it seems like there should be more longer casting spells so people have to worry about timing and when to cast things instead of running into battles spamming everything (not everyone does this).
That is a basic summary of what i’ve heard. What do you guys think? I do think the animations are a bit too flashy and should have the option to be toned down to still be noticeable but also not distracting and ill admit it is sometimes hell of a lot easier to spot then others.
Why post it in here? I feel like in pvp is when animations become most important.
