IIn about 5% of the matches I have played in the last week, I have encountered players that are not stompable. When confronted with it, they all say basically the same thing: “Sorry it must be lag” is the GW2 team looking into this? Is anyone else experiencing this?

It’s a bug where the perceived location of the person you’re trying to stomp isn’t where they actually are. To stomp them you need to find their real location. It usually happens next to ramps and such.

It’s position lag. It’s not a hack and there’s not really anything to do about it since it’s an infrastructure shortcoming, not a software issue. Calling for a fix would be like blaming car manufacturers for icy streets.

It’s a bug where the perceived location of the person you’re trying to stomp isn’t where they actually are. To stomp them you need to find their real location. It usually happens next to ramps and such.

If we are not in the right location why are we getting the “press f to stomp” notification? You press f, go through the stomp animation but nothing happens. I get a lot of that in WvW, in PvP, not so much. Do you get another notification when you stand where they actually (not where they appear to be) are?

So when you find the disembodied soul, you basically have to cleave it to death.

I am not sure but I think if you use a channeled skill, it will point you towards where the actual body is.

As everyone said its a product of a desync between the players client and the server.

It seems more common now with the condi changes, servers are a bit taxed.

This is true, there’s actually an application that will purposely “make you lag” by pressing a button that you’ve setup. It might sound a little crazy but some people refuses to die in this game…

This happens to me regularly because I use satellite internet. Basically what happened is you used a crowd control skill just as the person went down or the person did a dodge but didn’t get the dodge frames in time due to latency issues, and so went down anyway. These are what seem to cause it the most frequently.

Once it happens you can’t stomp the target. You have to bleed them out with damage. Your attacks will still hit normally, you just can’t stomp. It’s nothing I can control.

This happens a lot in wvw because of the lag, it also means allies can’t res them if they’re at the wrong location. Basically the place you see his body is actually different to where the player himself sees his body and when ressing the player has to direct his friends to where his body actually is.

Like I said in my other post this is getting pathetic now, the lag and skill lag is finally bleeding into their beloved spvp (this shows the lag is becoming a common occurrence now) and with it their esports dream is slipping away. Will be interesting to see if they bother to do anything about it.

Common desync problem. Most likely happen when a player is downed during moving either through skills or dodging.

Not a hack. Cleave them to death.
