Vials Maize Balm Exploit(Halloween) 2014
Locked out of JP (Wintersday) 2015
I have seen a few talent rehashes but nothing to our mobility (or lack of it) are we still screwed after the patch?
-33% cripple, chill and imobilize duration is pretty good compared to what we had till now (well, till patch).

Warrior has potentially awesome mobility, you just have to invest into it, while other classes get it basically for free. But still, the Options for the Warrior are actually very good:
- Warhorn/Elite Signet etc. can potentially give you perma-swiftness
- The Amount of great Movement-skills is also very huge: GreatSword 3 and 5 and Sword 2 are actually awesome.
The war is also insane against Movement-impairing effects thanks to the Warhorn, restorative Strength and of course Mobile Strikes, one of the most underrated traits, especially on a Greatsword-War.
really, what do you want more?
yes, more movement skills on other weaponsets would be nice main hand sword is terrible and greatsword 3 is used more as an evade than a movement skill. Warhorn no thank you.
So essentially we are still screwed then…
Mobility has never been an issue to warriors. The problem is that the movement skills can’t hit the target because they all miss if the enemy runs in circles.
They need to give each weapon at least one movement skill so Greatsword doesn’t feel so mandatory. Then just change stomp to a 900 yard leaping attack and you’ve pretty much fixed the whole class.
Mobility is the issue because everyone has swiftness, or the ability to teleport around. We have motion skills but gap closing isn’t the issue. It is the ability to gap close under movement impairment.
Warhorn reduces your defensive strength for condition removal with no other affect.
That new trait sounds promising but 1/3 reduction on 5 seconds of movement reduction is still 3.xx seconds of slowness. Instead of duration reduction, I would have looked for maybe potency reduction. Like cripple with the trait is only 25% reduction speed or chill with the trait is 45% reduction in speed.
BTW, the attachment to gs is the evasion not the mobility.
Just watched the STOG, its funny they want to “slow” the game, yet they refuse to put in proper healers, talk about an exercise in futility…
No mention what so ever to warrior lack of damage and gap closing.
Gotta love this game, its like watching a train wreck in slow mo

I for one am really glad there’s no healers required in this game. Enjoyed the combat much more in this game than in GW1.

Its of course your right, you are also the first person i hear state this. And i do own GW1 and expansions for the record.
Things that improve mobility as it is (remove immobalize/cripple/chill):
“Restorative Strength” Strength II Trait
“Mobile Strikes” Discipline X Trait
Mobility skills that let us close distances: Warhorn 4 (5 if traited for quick breathing), Savage leap, Rush, Whirlwind, Bull’s Charge, Eviscerate, Earthshaker, Signet of Rage (Swiftness)
Cleansing conditions also improves mobility: Signet of Stamina/Shake it off/Mending
If you want mobility, you’re going to have to give up some DPS for it, but that’s the way it works. Your choice. I personally just use mobile strikes + sword/shield as 2nd weapon set. Savage leap/shield bash both act as gap closers/escape/break immobalize with the trait.
Edit: FYI, warhorn in s/tPVP is great. It flips conditions into boons for all party members in the area when specced for quick breathing. If you take it with the “empowered” trait, you get 2% damage per boon. Quite decent.

Key words here. In order to have decent (not even amazing; just “meh” decent) defense against movement impairment, you have to make so many sacrifices and tear apart your build to the point where your warrior becomes useless. Useless as a 1v1 duelist (far point assaulter, close point defender), useless in team fights.
I’m optimistic about the upcoming patch though. Everything that I have been advocating for is coming true: a warrior that is more Irelia-like in nature. CC duration reduction, some sustain healing, some damage without having to build squishy. Fingers are crossed.

I also like having no healers. GW1 PvP was basically nobody dies until the monk dies. Or in the case of organized PvP, spiking over and over again.
oh well, according to the ele subforum, Rush is a great skill for mobility…
Um, if your traiting for warhorn, your going deep down a defensive tree.
There is no viable bunker or defensive based condition build for warrior (not enough self healing or mitigation in a warriors kit, and can’t apply many types of conditions). Meaning, your warhorn traited warrior dies a little bit slower, but actually has no viable way to inflict lethal damage (it probably won’t even be able to apply any pressure vs other bunker/condition built classes.
