Just wondering if there’s some hard counters and tips to fight against them. I see a lot of the times that they turn the games around and wipe the whole team also the burns also eat up hp too fast.

Don’t attack them while they’re blocking.
Use condi transfers.

There are a few things needed to fight them.
1.) Watch your condi bar and don´t blow cleanses lighly. You need a remover if large burn stacks pop up. I learned it that fighting a burn guard without always keeping an eye on my condi bar can kill me in seconds …
2.) As mentioned you need condi removers on demand. Small ones are usually sufficient (e.g. soldier rune with shouts)
3.) Unblockable attacks help a lot. So warrior with might signet is one of the options. Basilisk venom another one i use. I play ele and get them with unblockable air knockdown.
4.) And as Haleydawn said. Avoid striking into blocks. If i see shield goin up i usualy do something elese like casting a heal, dodging behind them, setting up a field ….

Basically if you are good with ele you beat them and a warrior with berserkers stance/cleansing ire and might signet should also do it.

reserve cleanses & keep track of their cooldowns (both burns & blocks). i advise approaching a burn guard, either one from HotM or one from a game, & ask them to 1v1 you. most of them will oblige, i know falselights will if you’re on NA (i would offer for EU, but i only play Xzibit DH). 1v1 practice is how i learnt to fight condi (condi mes specifically, ugh when you can fight that you can fight all condi builds), & is what i recommend you do.

in team fights they are the most dangerous because of how permeating wrath scales so focus them first. if you don’t then its gg since no amount of cleanse can counter them.

as a Daredevil with p/p, I stay ranged and try to always be moving. Watch for block and dont go melee. I can usually pewpew them down and interrupt some of their skills.

A full burn guard also has next to zero stunbreak/stability. CC it outside of block and they’re easy kills

Attacking a burn guard, DH or base, while he is blocking is what kills you. Base burn has pretty nasty defensive block burns. DH burn has extremely nasty active burns (every time you attack the DH gets a full justice charge he can apply).

Simply don’t attack any major blocking skills. So the F3 if DH and Focus 5. Stay the hell away from purging flames if the player is using that.

Kiting actually works extremely well on most burn guards. You can juke scepter orbs by spamming left/right movement. If you can trick a burn guard into camping scepter you’ll more than likely win.

The other important thing to understand is, while yes our passive damage is very good, our spike damage is what makes us deadly. If you avoid our spike you have a decent chance at countering.

Also, in team fight, focus a burn guard over a necro every time. A good burn guard will nuke you ten times faster than a necro.

And this is 100% true. We have two stun breaks. Easy to lock a burn guard down.

Range a burn guard. There defense sucks.
