I know Anet’s mentioned that they planned on adding matchmaking at some point, but I can’t find any sort of timeframe.

Seriously, just make a matchmaking system (maybe like League of Legend’s or HoN’s) and pvp would be so much more fun.

Ranked/Unranked modes, Ranked having a solo/duo que mode, or a guild mode (where you que up with a full 5-man team of friends). You get matched up with/against other players based on your overall wins/loss ratio, so new people will be put against other new people, and the pros will only be matched up against other pros, etc.

Unranked mode allows you to que with as many/few of your friends as you’d like (up to 5, or alone if you’d like) and you get matched up with people in the same way.

The difference is that Ranked mode gives you (or your team) a big ol’ public ranking that everyone can see.
