Anyone Has a Problem Chaining Skills?
Noticed this too, although my ping has been higher than normal since the patch (was normally sitting around 40-50, now I’m at an average of 120+) so this could be a contributing factor, if it is, it’s definitely the game, as my net hasn’t changed anywhere else.

Thing is, I’m not facing any other kind of lag. I test my lag by seeing how fast the “switch weapons” works – and I’m not having any problems – I’ve faced much worse without the issue of skill chaining…

I was noticing a bit of this last night, having a bit of delay when trying to get my shield out.
I know in the past that this was sometimes due to on-dodge traits, like evasive powder keg or reckless dodge, but I didn’t have a trait like that at the time.
It’s possible it could just be due to the lag though. The servers can sometimes get hit with episodes of lag when patches like this come out because there’s constantly people downloading stuff, and this patch was relatively large.
Was there any particular skills that were giving you problems? I know some skills exhibit this sort of “delay” normally. For instance, I often find it impossible to chain the ranger axe auto attack into splitblade smoothly, there’s always this very clunky delay in between.

I’ve been playing my mesmer for 3 years, so I have a very good feel of what skills activate and how they do so. I’ve also played through terrible lag without this kind of problem. No…this is new.
I think Anet has changed something about the way skills are chained up. Maybe if a skill has an aftercast, you could previously press another skill and it would activate when possible. Now, that might have gone.
I’m just trying to come up with reasons for what I’m seeing. What I see is very real though. I face it in every single game I play.

Ive notice this weird delay when trying to get off a shadow strike after a sneak attack, first I thought it was lag, but it has been fairly consistent.

Yes if your using theif, they’re attacks queue up, gotta try not to mindlessly spam buttons or you’ll end up heartseekering to the other end of the map.

Same problem. It only happens after the patch. One possibility is that there are a lot more people playing than usual.

I’ve always thought this was related to the “damage on dodge” trait but it appears to affect everything now.
Yes. Weapon switching and going into DS usually flat out fails, quickly casting skills after each other seems to be slow. I just thought I had some wierd lag or that is simply wasn’t clicking the ability..
Hopefully this will be fixed.
’tis definitely a bug. I suggest pushing it up in the bugs section of the forums! It definitely screws up with Static Discharge equipped as well as some Mesmer skills. Thread even links to a proof video.

I restarted my PC on the first day of the patch because I thought it was my PC but then no.
It seems like the queue time got cut short. Now I feel like playing Street Fighter where I have to press the key precisely timing.
I just fought a literally GOD mode Ele, he wasn’t getting damage by melee… you could apply conditions on him but not melee.

I also experienced a skill delay, this was very noticable when playing thief. Sword porting seems to take ages or not work at all at times, also shadowshot felt A LOT more clunky. Thought I’m nuts or just lagging, but my ping was fine either.
Weirdly enough I didn’t really experience anything like that while playing fresh air.
Just keeping this at the top. And keep in mind: Post in the skill queue bug section thread! Gotta keep this issue alive and on the top because it’s decently important for competitive play!

Its a bug, thats really easy to test on an Engi. The bug happens anytime you queue a toolbelt skill with a cast time right after using another skill with a cast time.
