Anyone getting crazy Queue times in diamond?

Searching faster would entail going further in pip ranges to find matches. That would magnify the already extreme win/loss streaks.
This is the downside of setting up the system the way season 2 has been handled. If what I’m seeing is an indication, you should expect queue times to get longer.
I had 5,5h queue in legend division yesterday.
The pip range is actually a good concept to reach balanced matches but it causes issues if the game has to less players
It’s one problem of a RANK system based on GRINDS.
Not enough players did grind to DIAMOND yet.
So… you need to wait for the players to come into your division.
Having a Match-Making based on skills and MMR is way better, so the queue time are lower. Why? Because you didn’t divide your QUEUE by 6. Actually… it is divided by 6.
It’s like giving you 6 queue options.
This is bad. We need to get matches to our SKILL level and grinds from there the Legendary Item. Not grinding bad matches to get a PVE useless item (with a bad skin layout that get overwrite).
But grinding competitively our MATCHES into the same SKILL level to get that reward. PLEASE ANET, remove the grind from SKILL and put that grind TO PVE REWARD or TITLE/AA.

TBH what you say doesnt makes sense
If you want to introduce ‘skill-based’ seasons/ leaderbords, only about 2% of the pvp players should ever get the highest divisions like in other games.
Considering that EVEN NOW bad or new players are complaining about being stucked in lower divisions like they deserve it, I can promise you that something like this will never happen.
Just watch the amount of threads where people are complaining about being stucked in sapphire, saying that they actually would be super good and they just can not get into higher divisions because of the bad matchmaking.
A skill based design simply doesn’t work in a game that is mainly attached to causal players who only play 1-5h per week while they are spending most of this time to kill tequatl or to explore some jungle.

Having Diamond Bracket players play against lower bracket players would not be a valid matchup. Brackets are brackets.
It would not be fair to have some Diamond Bracket players win by playing less-challenging, non-Diamond opponents.
This is a natural result of a winstreak ranking system with a randomized opponent matchmaking. Right now, because your pip range limitations. There arn’t enough players to even produce a attempt in a timely manner. It may be many more days before you see your queue times reduced if at all.
People at the top will have few to play with at the top because not only will so few make it, but most players will quit before putting in enough matches.
This is basically RNG progression. Your MMR is your magic find modifier for you and your team, and players in your pip range are your opponent drop table. To people with an average MMR getting a win is like getting exotic from 4 rares in the mystic forge and a loss is getting 1 rare back. To see any progression getting an exotic must happen several times in a row.
Since players new to leagues start in the average player MMR range, it will take many of us, especially in solo queue, many many tries before we see any progress. Most people are unwilling or don’t have the hours to make that many attempts will stall before they get to a higher division or just quit at some point.
Many like myself stop at ruby and aren’t going back this season. The statistical probability of reaching diamond across that many pips is really low and there for probably isn’t worth the time investment when it could all be lost so quickly.
