Pretty much any other ascended armorpiece has the ability to be transformed into other stats using the mystic forge. Why doesn’t it work for the Pvp ardent armor?

Its a bug or its intentional, the Devs haven’t said which. I’m waiting to spend my shards for this reason.

It has the same stats as ascended gear and can take infusions. It can be classed as ascended gear and is ascended gear. A bit more than a year ago Ascended gear couldn’t have the stats changed. It was still ascended.
Calling it not ascended because it can’t have it’s stats changed at the Mystic Forge is like saying Temple Armour is not exotic because it can’t be salvaged like forged or looted exotic pieces.

yup. exactly.
i dun treat those as exotics.

but temple gear are mystic forgeable though.

flush 4 temple gear down the mystic pool then u get a salvageable one.

So is this intended or not?

I assumed it was intentional as it’s way easier to get than normal ascended. It’s taken me around 70 games to get 4-5 pieces, which considering I was gonna do that anyways is pretty good value.

Some confirmation would be nice tho.

So, before they added the ability to change stats on ascended weapons and armour in the mystic forge were they not ascended either? Are trinkets not ascended?

They’re ascended because their stats are ascended (ie greater than exotic) and not because of the stat change functionality.

Pretty much just want to know if it’s intentional or not. I think we all agree that it’s ascended armor. I just don’t really see why those wouldn’t be changeable, as we can be honest, getting ascended armor through raids and fractals ain’t very hard either.

In the screenshot you can see it is Ardent but we don’t know if it was Ardent or Illustrious for the player who got it changed manually.

If they really did change it manually, and if it was Ardent, we can assume it was not intended. We’re having a big question mark here, help us out devs!

They implied it was a bug in this thread.

So has the bug been fixed so far, or not?
Just checking before spending money on inscriptions :p

the LWS3 patch is coming tomorrow so the fix will probably be in there.
