I heard that rank was going to be removed, but ANET decided to keep it.

However some people are saying they heard from an ANET dev you won’t be able to get the finishers in the future.

I read this entire thread and did not find anything specific.

wow, i did not see that one, i.e. they will keep ranks but remove the finishers?

i guess we need josh or justin to confirm this for us.

UPDATE: Due to overwhelming player response, we have decided to keep ranks in PvP. We will be looking at rebalancing later tiers to make them more achievable. Because we will be keeping the rank system, at this time we are no longer planning to move rank finishers to ladders, create alternate rank finishers, or award special legacy titles. Thank you to all the players who provided their feedback and came out in favor of keeping ranks.

oooo so rank finishers will not be removed.

I already saw that post. It doesn’t answer the question because the rank system does not necessarily include rank finishers.

I assumed that it did until someone I know asked Grouch and Power in-game and they specifically said rank finishers will be unobtainable in a couple of months. I hope they can give an official statement here on the matter.
