As the Title states the question is:

“Are the ratings in the top 100 based on the character or the account?”

Also I’d like to know the following:

When will people below the top 100 able to see their ranks?

I think they have answered this, and it is based on a that one character.

misinformation ftw! check the Dev posts. It’s per account, they just show the most recent character used to give a char name.

they will expand beyond the top 100 “over the next few weeks”

What confuses me is they reset win/loss but didn’t reset rating. Now I know that rating isn’t perfectly correlated with win/loss as it depends who you beat, and who you lose to. But , some people being on the leader board with 7 wins 6 losses, seems kinda….odd.

I suggest the leaderboard display both account name and most recent character in order to avoid confusion but still show recognizable names.

Only way possible with that few of games is that player beat someone who is very high up in the ladder thus giving him a massive rating gain. Its possible he also groups with other high rated players and got him wins against other top rated players to do that.

Right you are. I suppose there’s no excuse for the confusion then.

When are more leaderboard features being added? And when is it going to be expanded past the top 1000?

One hour I was ranked 772. A few hours later (of not playing) I wanted to show my friend, but I seemed to drop off of the board. A search feature would at least be nice sooner rather than later.
