Hey guys, i came to HOT after like 1-2 months w/o playing GW2. All the specializations looks to be very cool and funny. But after playing some few conquest matches I realized that looks like every1 playing a specialization is stronger than me(haven’t played against warrior berserker yet). I don’t have HOT yet, so im playing my ranger with the GS/LB marauder build.

Im afraid that with those new specializations some old school build wont be viable anymore in SPVP/WvW. I was used to be very effective in pvp with my ranger before HOT, but playing some matchs after specializations release made me feel very weak.

Does some1 else has this feeling? Specializations will kill some ‘old school’ builds?

Many elite specs are stronger than the core class, but this is to be expected this recent after a expac. I’ve never seen a MMO to date pull off a expac without having egregious balance for a time afterwards.
This is due to difficulty in predicting how completely new mechanics will affect the meta.

Give it a couple patches and it’ll be much better.

I also agree with your oppinion. As a thief when it comes to +1 fight I can do so little when fighting HoT specialization. And yes you are right, I feel weak also and I believe the old build will be gone and since you dont buy HoT you will be not able to catch up with new meta which I think is slowly comming. Its still early to decide it now but for sure the new specializations are unbalanced, not OP, but very unbalanced. They are new in current meta plays with different playstyle and nonHoT players are not used to conter them.

It depends what class really…

Necro to Reaper feels like an elite, but Warrior to Berserker feels like a downgrade…

DD is just plain bad… its better a normal thief than DD
