Guild Wars 2

Today I was in an sPvP match and two weird things happened. Firstly the opponents randomly jumped up 150 points and secondly, when we had 2 out of 3 points, suddenly they controlled all three. I know they didn’t cap them because I was standing at one which we were in control of and there was no one else there and it suddenly was ‘capped’.

I guess I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before? I can only assume it was some form of glitch or hack because it broke pretty much every match mechanic.

I know hackers can be found in WvW (not that I’ve ever seen one) but do they exist in sPvP too?

Which map?
There is one map (Legacy of the Foefire) that have an NPC that gives 150 points when killed.

There is another map (Temple of the Silent Storm) where you can take a buff that automatically turns all cap points to their team.

LOL, the 150 jump in points can be explained by a lord kill on Foefire, and when they get all three points could be when they cap Tranquility on Temple.

Sounds like he was playing on Temple of Foefire Sounds like 2 separate maps you are talking about and not the same. was it 2 separate matches? One after another? Sure a PLAYER could hack in sPvP (seen it there and in WvW). Could they hack to change the points/ score in the game? No.

I say we make 1 map with all the mechanics of each. Buffs, treb, lord + mini bosses. Slap it at 800 points to win and call it a day. LET THE “Battle for the Forest Temple of Foefire” BEGIN! Would make for some interesting strategies and game play

if you seriously just read the popup you get when you load into a map you would know what the heck is happening. It’s really not that difficult.

You all laugh, but when listening to the TS in WvW, you often hear things like “How could this thief port away and still finish the stomp on me? Hacker!”. Knowledge only comes with experience.

I played as a medi burst guard the other day, downed someone in one fast burst rotation and got called a hacker :/

Just as an FYI this happened on the Spirit Watch map, without the 150 NPC or Temple buff. I forgot to mention the map earlier. I am aware these events can happen on other maps. They both happened in the same match.

Dunno if troll or joke, but those examples you gave are map based mechanics.

It’s not uncommon however for people to yell at others calling them hackers because they don’t realize things like Blink, Infiltrator’s Arrow, and Lightning Flash can give you a positioning advantage.

Don’t ever report someone because another player asked you to.

And often people will make claims of players using scripts for optimal play, not realizing practice makes perfect, and they don’t know how to doge.

I wouldn’t doubt it’s possible to send this commands on any other map.
Why shouldn’t you be able to send a ffaakkee package of a lord kill on forest?
