I know Berserker died at birth. But how about warrior class in general? Are there any pros left that still use warriors in tourneys? If so, how are they performing?

I know Berserker died at birth.

Lol, this cracked me up

Adrenaline nerf/Cleansing ire nerf made the warriors half life, the rampage buff gave a little bit of life to it for a month before getting nerfed and now with the release of some OP elite spec, warriors have been resting in the peace in their graves hoping someday Anet will have mercy on their poor souls.

In 1 vs 1 situations warrior can still win some fights.

Ive noticed though that the new guardian/engy/ranger/necro have so much sustain and dps output. Before warriors could be the dps output but guardian and traps, necro in reaper form can do the same thing but also be a bunker in team fights.

The problem in the last meta was that D/D eles could do everything and the PvP community forced the tournament structures hand since every team starting running 4-5 ele teams. Now you have 4 HOT classes with the all around ability except mobility.

Warriors/thieves/ and to a certain extent mesmers have the same problem which is what can they bring to a team. Revanents also imo will have problems finding roster spots.

Its not only a warrior problem but yes the zerker trait line isnt what it needs to be to make it viable in tournament play and the old builds though good enough for 1 vs 1 fights fall a little behind in team fights.

They have to remake whole the warrior class to be honest, from weapons to traits and so on, it has a very bad outdated design no wonder everyone claims warrior is like the easiest class to learn, even a kitten can play warrior, it’s like if anet used it as a basic prototype guideline to make the other classes during game development of some sort and relied from there while giving other classes more fun and interesting mechanics.

They already remade whole warrior profession… and renamed in to Revenant.

fix’d

Doesn’t it strike anyone odd that profession that could potentially compete in popularity with revenant are abysmally bad in pvp atm?

Couldn’t agree more. Warrior is antiquated and designed off what appears to the 1970’s dungeons and dragons ideological warrior. I believe warrior play style should be form follows function and intuitive to use and not overly hot key orientated..but currently warrior is like playing a 2 button profession. One button says “Hulk” and the other button says “Smash.”

I have no idea how the “Warrior is easy to play” stereotype is still persisting when a warrior badly played will instantly get destroyed by most of the other elite specs badly played.

Warrior is only easy to learn, but difficult to execute as you face increasingly better opponents. The ability to time your skills and highly telegraphed abilities at the right time when they are vulnerable through all of the enemies defensive cooldowns. A bad warrior is a free kill since even though he has potential damage, it is hard to actually hard it on any competent player. A good warrior will pressure you hard so you waste defensive cooldowns and dodges, so they can time a good burst on you.

I also really hate this saying. Have they even played the class? Warrior is hard mode right now. It all comes down to, killing your opponent before they can kill you. But with all the blind spam, evasion, teleports, blocks, protection, heals, and condis how in the world is the warrior gonna survive? Especially in a team fight in melee range. Once their cooldowns are out, they are better off running away to regen health.

They need an entire redesign. I don’t think just buffing berserk would be enough. Warriors are just too reliant on Strength (added burst damage) , defense (Survive another 4 seconds), and discipline (Utility that supports both burst and survival).

Banner, and with the immense satisfaction of someone who’s completed their one goal in life, proceed to down on point. Throw your handy hammer at the nearest person and then use vengeance, dance party on the point until you’re sadly taken from us. Forever remember.

On a more serious note, I still had fun playing base warrior post HoT patch with reasonable success. Went from about I think 20-ish games won to Champ Legionnaire post patch.

No clue though if it’s viable at all for higher level play. Does seem a little underpowered, but that’s just my two cents.

I have no idea why people say warrior is easy to play. Each class has to worry about certain skills and certain motions from classes to evade. Warriors have never had blinks and the ability to straight up escape. When people lose to a warrior they just get mad and throw salt.

I recently had a dh say after i beat him, nice rampage. The next time we fought i was sitting on point and he came straight for me. I won that fight and I wrote “GF” and he replied F**** You and went on to say in map chat that warrior dps is broken.

No matter what class it is, he takes a certain amount of skill to play it at a effective level. Are some classes easier then others, yes but it doesnt change that fact that certain players dominate others because of the skill.

You come out and say it yourself. Warrior is easier to play than others, and thus in comparison to the other classes, “Warrior is easy to play.”

wait what? where have i ever said that? Before hot warriors were getting destroyed by the cele d/d, engy builds. It takes a insane amount of skill for warriors to win fights since all the classes have a counter to the home run hits warriors do.

Ive have always pointed out that certain skills need to be avoided from every class. As a glass warrior i have to worry about what kind of mesmer/thief/ etc etc is whether they are condi or dps. You cant pop both your stances at the same time since thats a death wish. I never said warrior is easier to play and im wondering where you are getting that from?

I said certain classes are easier to play and i was referring to meta builds. Like the old d/d ele build. Seriously when every team is running 4-5 and beating any team not running them, would you consider that easier?

Im at a loss of words at where i said playing warrior is easier, could you please point it out where i said it?
