means ur in their MMR bracket realistically :P… they’re a ESL Team yes, but they’re still counted by their MMR.

Sadly, this seems to have occurred from a higher value of division overcoming any difference of MMR (if applicable) thus costing you a pip despite them being pros.

i think its because they have 2 sapphires in their team, the stupid match prediction sorts of takes that into account as well.

they have 1 diamond, 2 rubies, 2 sapphires.

say your team of 5 rubies = 5 × 4 = 20 points
their team of
1 diamond = 5
2 sapphires = 2 × 3 = 6
2 rubies = 2 × 4 = 8

5 + 6 + 8 = 19

technically their total division point is one point less than your team.
but yeah, the match prediction is totally being a kitten in this case.

Darkadonis’ account name is Hugh.1893 which is also Nightmare(Dev Hugh) so he was playing with them as well. Also, what I don’t understand is how you get paired against a 5Q (3 being in Proleague) and obviously Hman isn’t the worst player, get 490 points against that AND still lose a Pip.

I scored less vs their premade but got 2 pips on a loss, (the game was 450-500 approx) no in game mmr, nobody knows how this batshet crazy system works. In OP’s screenshot they only had 3 main roster apex members, I think in my game I only had 2 which then makes me wonder… this system is feck’d to begin with.

I was wondering about that game. What’s even worse is I played them a game before, we lost 497-500 and I also lost a pip that game. They also didn’t have Hugh that game it was a full Apex roster.

According to A-Net, you should be beating ESL teams as a solo player to progress. It’s common sense after all.

A few days ago, I was in a random match and I knew someone on the other team. The match was a draw; literally 500 to 500 when the match ended. I gained a pip, he lost a pip. Maybe it was because my team got 500 a couple of milliseconds before theirs? I don’t think we’ll ever know.

There have been games where I’ve gained a pip when I lost, lost a pip when I won, remained with the same number of pips when I won or lost.

The moral of the story is: Don’t trust the system. It is not your friend. It’s nonsense.
