Spoiler warning for those of you who haven’t ventured into Heart of the Mists and seen the new “PvP Build” interface: the new amulets they announced with the patch? You actually have to pay to use them. Ten gold each. But that’s not what I’m here to discuss.

I’m jumping around HotM having a grand old time. I looked to the bottom of the new amulets list, and out of curiosity I clicked on the greyed-out icon for the *Valkyrie Amulet. A window popped up showing me that it cost 10 gold to unlock the amulet for my account. Then it went away. And I lost 10 gold. I had hit spacebar which auto-confirmed a purchase of 10 gold.

Arenanet? What. The. Hell. Are you flipping kidding me?!? I’m sorry but what the hell is wrong with you people? This nonsense of spacebar randomly being auto-accept for some options needs to stop. You can’t even hit spacebar to say “yes” to joining a WvW map. You have to click the kitten thing.

Then WHY THE HELL would you guys make an auto-accept for a ten gold purchase? I… what… how does that even… Jesus Christ…

Look, getting 10 gold back for the stupid Cavalier amulet I am NEVER going to use in PvP would suit me just fine, but seriously, this is what NEEDS to happen:

Arenanet, make it so that when a “yes/no” or “accept/cancel” window pops up, hitting the spacebar ALWAYS results in an automatic press of “yes”, or make hitting spacebar NEVER result in an automatic “yes”.

This B.S. is absolutely ridiculous, and needs to stop. You’ve got my gold, now fix the rest of your flippin “yes/no” pop-up boxes.

Edit: someone saw this post and mailed me 10 gold. I can’t thank you enough dude. Nice to know there are still awesome people out there. I’ll pay it forward when I get the chance.
Edit2: It was the Valkyrie amulet. I’m not an active PvPer, I don’t look thru the list that often.

10 gold seems very expensive for new amulet stats. : (

there should be non gold involved, alternative methods to unlock the new sPvP amulets.

maybe via some special event in PvE / WvW etc or plain through sPvP.

or maybe finish a certain number of reward track unlocks it etc.

10 gold for those who cannot wait.

I’d gladly pay 100g if I could take 50% of one amulet and 50% of another.

The gold cost is supposed to gate new people from “advanced” features and make them less prone to bad builds. But the new amulet are both terrible when used at full stats.

well that’s what they like to say and want us to believe.

personally, i find them to be gold sinks that cannot be avoided.
can be avoided if i do not wish to use those amulets.

the new sigils, runes should have alternative means of unlocking, say if we extracted the new sigls / runes from armor / weapons in PvE we should unlock them for sPvP too. at least that is how it works in the original guild wars.

So you accidentally bought one of the new amulets and the conclusion that you came to was that Anet had scammed you?
