in a SIMPLE way toooo much maths abbout it everywhere but not a single example.

SO

i have 0 armor a warrior hits me for 1000 every single time

i have 1000 armor a warrior hits me for ???? every single time

so how much does it hit me now ?

No idea.

The only thing about armor I know (from http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage):
Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

So basically: Every time you double your armor, you’ll get hit for half.
F.e. I have 1.000 armor, and a warrior hits me for 1.000
If i have 2.000 armor, the warrior will now hit me for only 500.

With 4.000 armor you get hit for 250.

direct damage in gw2 is calculated like this

[skill multiplier] x [Power] x [Weapon Strength] / [Target’s Armor]

say pvp exotic’s axe weapon strength range is 857 – 1,048
say you use warrior’s whirling axe which has a skill multiplier of 2.85
say your power is 3000 after some stacks of might boon
say you are using whirling axe on a target with 2000 armor
say RNG god favors you and you get 1000 weapon strength.

so …

2.85 × 3000 × 1000 / 2000 = 4275 damage.
if your critical damage is 200% and you crit on all 15 hits then the damage would doubled say 8550

however, if your target armor is 3000 then
2.85 × 3000 × 1000 / 3000 = 2850 damage if you do not crit
and if you are suffering from weakness, you will do 1425 damage.

and if your target armor is 3500 then
2.85 × 3000 × 1000 / 3500 = 2443

so you can see, armor from 2000 to 3000, the damage reduced seems a lot, around 1425 based on a skill multiplier of 2.85, power 3000 and weapon strength 1000, but from 3000 to 3500, not so much.

and if somehow target armor is 4000 then,

2.85 × 3000 × 1000 / 4000 = 2138
so 3000 to 4000 is 718

so the damage reduced at higher armor values gets lower.
