Ascendant is the title you get at or after rank 80. It is also like 20 points in HoM from GW1. That means at rank 1 people can be an “Ascendant”. That should probably be fixed.

Proceed to QQ about what should be fixed more.

I displayed that title before entering a SPvP match once and actually had somebody run from me and say “WTF ASCENDANT” in chat.

Who cares about titles? I mean, really, it’s quite obvious there is no way for anyone to be PvP Ascendant right now.

People should care about titles. If I’m going into a 1 on 1 at a point and see a anything lower than an Avenger then I know it is going to be an easy fight. Avengers should put up a good fight and against Ransackers I should be weary (especially against mesmers). If its a Marauder I would still try but I better be on my game. If someone were actually an Ascendant I don’t think I would even try.

If someone claims to have ascendant pvp title (Rofl it would take a lot of time for someone to reach ascendant…not a couple of months for sure) just ask him to show Mist Walker trollface Btw…you can actually know ppl rank from gear even with no titles on…so where’s the problem.

PS. Acendant is an horrible title for a top rank…something like Holy Mothafakka facerolling ogre would be really appreciated…

I agree. I thought the HoM title might have supposed to be descendent. But I’m not sure…

Either way, takes all the value away from the PvP title.

That’s why i usually put on some crap mercenary or gladiator instead of ransacker But it works only on people who can’t understand ppl rank form gears…with more exp players it doesn’t work xD

I have never lowered my title though. People should fear my approach.

I have a fiery gladius on both thief and guardian and sometimes i use rabbit finishers u.u Think it’s time to put a plain pvp sword on xD

I get very lazy when I see rabbit finishers… Probably a bad habit.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do i put a title to be displayed? and more important, how do i remove that title (or any) from being displayed)? And how do i know im displaying the title?

You just choose the title you want from the list of unlocked ones into your char window → Achievements..or you can chose to put “No Title” on..

Wel, that ive done, but i cant see if it displays… if you remenber from gw1, you would open a drop down list with all titles, check the box you wanted and then press F to see it. But here,i dont know how to confirm.

I’m pretty sure the Hall of Monuments title is Ascendant because of the Ascension feat in Guild Wars, which was accomplished by completing the Augury Rock mission in Prophecies, Nahpui Quarter in Factions, or Hunted! in Nightfall. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ascension

I think they should have picked something else for the PvP title. I wear it because I Ascended in all three GW campaigns, and I like the word, but I have not nor will I probably ever earn it for PvP.

people with no skills can easily farm glory/rank points in hotjoin to get the high lvl pvp titles so don’t worry when fighting anyone with avenger/ransacker titles.

But do play with extra caution when fighting people with Champion Profession titles coz these people don’t get the titles from silly and skill-less hotjoins.

I posted this awhile ago. I don’t really have problems with much anymore. I’m also rank 43 and don’t have ransacker because of what Verdelet said. Also, the champ x titles don’t take much. Its just 150 tourny wins.

Respect is a drug and there isn’t anything to satiate that right now, not even this silly misnamed title.

I agree that the pvp title “Ascendant” shoudnt be the same as GW1 title. Also i suggest to add more pvp Profession titles like at 150 tour wons the Champion, maybe at 500wons or 1000wons or something.

don’t worry, noone will ever get that title.

No one cares about titles in this game. Anet could’ve had fun with them but they didn’t really support it that much. Btw if your a Mesmer in pvp and you have a title on, your clones wont show the title and you’ll be easier to spot.

Titles/ranks don’t mean anything i’ve seen many lower ranked players outperform higher ranked players. Time played=doesn’t equal a better player. You could be the worst player but play 24/7 and have a high rank/achievement

Was pretty lazy on anets part to have two titles worded exactly the same
