Attacking while stealthed
after stealth there is 3 secs of no chance to go stealth again.
no it is not a bug but probably the time the character use to reveal, it can do some damage. i think it is not right but i think there are other things to be balanced before thinking at it
incorrect shukran, reveal is a debuff.
if the game working perfectly this is how stealth is supposed to work.
we attack, if the attack lands, we are INSTANTLY put out of stealth and gain the revealed debuff, where we cannot enter stealth again for 3 seconds (i think its 3, might be 2)
anything that allows the thief to attack continuously without breaking stealth is either lag or a bug.

i explained bad: whenever i see a thief going out of shadows it is not istantly revealed but slowly the form of the character appears. it needs about 1 sec to fully reveal a char meanwhile he can hit 2-3 times while revealing.
weird, must be on the other players screen, on mine i instantly appear. i dont really see how this stops you if you can see and target them tho
There’s a problem with character rendering when they leave stealth. On the Thief or Mesmer’s screen they appear instantly, but on the other player’s screen it take a few seconds. They do become targetable, but once targeted you only see a red arrow over empty space.
^ This is true. Was fighting some thief in WvW and the second he went invisible I switched to SB and used infiltrators arrow to evade a backstab and before I saw him on my screen I was taking damage and heard dagger swipes. Dunno how this can be “working correctly.”
I’ve noticed this as well.
Also, if i use my number 1 swing and hit the thief/mesmer, shouldn’t it instantly pull them out of stealth? Or do they get to stay in stealth regardless of damage taken, and can only be revealed by attacking/running out of stealth time?
Thanks.
I’ve noticed this as well. Some thieves run some sort of nearly-perma stealth and attack you while you can’t see them. I think it’s just bug/lag tho.

stealth in this game does not braek on damage (tho we still take the damage). it only breaks when the timer runs out (3-4 seconds unless you stay stealthed in the shadow refuge circle for its full duration) or when the thief lands a attack.
I do not know if this is intended but on my thief, i fi miss my backstab, i do not get put out of stealth, i only get put out of stealth if i land my attack.
also thieves arent suppozed to be able to re-enter stealth for 3 seconds after exiting (revealed debuff)
but sounds like this rendering issue needs fixing
Stealth NEEDS to not trigger/break if covered with DOT’s or hit with AOE, like it is SUPPOSE to do.

That’s because the WoW community feels bad for rogues. They’ve been thrown under the bus for nearly 2 years. :x
More on topic: Whether or not there’s a bug on attacking from stealth, there’s definitely a bug on finishing from stealth. I popped stealth during a crazy fight the other day, spotted a downed player, moved over, and finished him while still stealthed, expecting to be pulled out of stealth. I felt bad. Finishing should probably instantly pull you from stealth, cause not being able to do anything cause you can’t see me is pretty unfair.
Is this a bug? I’ve fought a few thieves and mesmers who are invisible for the vast majority of a fight, and seem to keep attacking at full speed while stealthed. That can’t possibly be working as intended, right?
This is because latency affects when the thief becomes visible on your screen, thus leaving you with seconds of being smashed without being able to see where from.
The only solution I can come up with right now is keep auto-attacking in the general direction you think the thief is at.
I’ve killed so many thieves midstealth by just following where I think they went – auto-attacks will combo when you hit a target, they won’t combo when you don’t – so you always know if you’re hitting something.

Except the part that you can still aim in the general direction.
Intelligent players do not get finished by a person in stealth.
i gaurantee that stealth finishing is intended, now you can argue if its fair or not, or whether they should change it, but its not a bug
Why are you guys complaining about being able to stealth while DoT’d? Stealth is completely different in this game. Sure, you can’t be seen when stealthed, but you will still get hit by ANYTHING while stealthed. You can be CC’d in stealth, everything still applies. If the thief gets rooted and he stealths, he’s still going to be rooted. Just keep on slashing and you’ll be fine.
If the thief couldn’t stealth while dotted, he would never be able to stealth with all the conditions being thrown around.
Just learn to keep swinging when the thief gets stealthed.
As for the original topic, yes, for some reasons thieves remain invisbile (not stealthed, simply not rendered) after attacking while in stealth.
Another note is that the Revealed debuff only occurs if you attack while in stealth. If you never hit in stealth with an attack, you won’t get the debuff when you come out of stealth.
i don’ t like the fact that channeling skills continue hitting you while in stealth.
sometimes if you are bleeding i can see cloacked opponents, i see something like an aura of the body, so it is visible.
Shukran, I hate getting rapid shot by a ranger when I go into stealth.. because he will still hit me and see where I go for the entire duration of rapid shot.
That’s silly.
There’s a few kinks with stealth atm, mostly rendering issues. They will probably be fixed. I like ANet’s version of stealth though. Its not permanent, and they can still be damaged. I love swinging at a stealthed thief because I know where he is going, and when he comes out of stealth, he is downed.
