Just disappointed again…

The moment when my team is winning and auto balance kittened system put me to losing team at the end of match…
In such moments i would love to take refund and lost time on this game…

Auto balance ok… but not 30 seconds before match end wtf?

For autobalance to forcefully(ie without volunteering) swap you 30 seconds before match end.. your team would’ve had a 2 man advantage for at least 2 minutes.

I’m not sure you’re the one who should be complaining about that situation.

As stated above, if your team is winning via handicap and you volunteer to help the losing side, you are given a win whether or not you actually get transported.

That’s the fairest you can possibly get for team games like this. The only funny thing is being surprised about not winning when you get forcibly moved so it isnt a complete wipe for the underdog.

A few things to note:

Gonna correct you abit.

Autobalance WILL NOT TRIGGER if someone leaves after 400 points threshold, but if someone leaves right before 399 and the auto balance thing come out, it’ll trigger at last even after it reaches over 400.

Many losing team uses auto-balance as an exploit to get a free win.

real prob is the guy needs to realize hotjoin isn’t about winning/losing its for playing. since he cares about win/lose, he needs to go un/ranked, until he gets bored of pre-mades and waiting around only to fight premades. granted, its more competitive and etc etc, but still i just want to play and hotjoin lets us do that, and theres nothing wrong w/ that

They need to lock-in the initial choice of a player who joins hotjoin.

Choose red? then you are on red, choose blue? then you are on blue, Spectator? then spectate.

It is the ease of changing on a whim that destroys the system.

If the game needs balancing, let it balance, don’t let players manipulate it themselves so heavily.

If a player chooses a team, they will be allowed to join spectator. But if a player chooses spectator the only time they should be allowed back into the game is if:

- They rejoin the server manually

- The servers gives them a prompt similar to Autobalance to make them a “substitute” and place them on the team that needs the player instead.

not sure, maybe i wasn’t clear. sure everyone wants to win, but hotjoin is all about playing. it isn’t really about winning/losing. if u really care about win/lose then u need to be in the un/ranked arenas where it actually counts for something (sorta) and is balanced (sorta).

hotjoin is like, let me just fight some peoples and enjoy some pvp, win, lose whatever, whole reason i’m in pvp is to actually do some pvp, not to wait around in the mists. and if ur in a server that is obv a guild or stacked some other way, just bail and go to another, its hotjoin so u can do that and continue to fight on.

ur win/lose count and ratio don’t mean anything to the “leets” unless its the ratio for un/ranked. so don’t worry bout losing in hotjoin, and just play

my point though is that it isnt pvp in the same way as un/ranked. it looks like it and smells like it, but its riddled with cancer — the lack of any incentive for teamwork, which is the single most central pillar of un/ranked. that makes it an entirely different game.

Upon joining a server, all options will be available to a player:

— Join Red | Join Blue | Spectator | Auto

  • If a player remains in the server for 20 seconds without choosing an option, they will automatically be moved to Spectator Mode.
  • Player’s choices will be initially locked to their selection, the team they chose, or Spectator Mode with minor exceptions.
  • If a player leaves a team to join spectator mode, they will be locked into spectator mode for the remainder of the match, in exception to Substitution (explained later)
  • Substitution Mode: When a player is in Spectator Mode (Spectator mode must be their initial choice) and autobalance occurs in a match, players in Spectator Mode will be given the option to “Substitute” onto the underpopulated team and receive a bonus similar to the Volunteer Bonus.
  • Players who join spectator mode from previously playing in the match (choosing a team initially) will not be given the option to Substitute, and remain locked in Spectator Mode.
  • Auto Team Option: The Random Team option will be replaced with “Auto” team option. Meaning a player who initially chooses this option when entering the server, will automatically be pooled into the Volunteer selection when autobalance is required. you get the rank points, dailies are just the devs trying to get more people to try new things. and while its been successful to an (small) extent, in general people are just finding the path of least resistance instead of adhering to the spirit of it.

you get the rank points, dailies are just the devs trying to get more people to try new things. and while its been successful to an (small) extent, in general people are just finding the path of least resistance instead of adhering to the spirit of it.

Still, being on the winning team at the end of the match matters.

Sensible thing to do would be to remove rewards from practice mode entirely. Then we won’t get people complaining about not getting rewards that they never earned. Might spoil unranked a bit, but hey there’s two tiers of queue for a reason.

that would be a solution. my prob w/ it is that it would be more removing ways to play rather than expanding. they removed big hotjoins 10v10 or 8v8 i don’t remember nemore, and they’ve removed soloq, prob some other things i don’t know/remember

i’m all for opening ways to play, rather than removing. but i do understand the pt u are making, and theres some merit to it

Leave the “Join red/blue team” for custom arenas where people can and will continue to abuse the system. Hot join in its current state is atrocious and simply isn’t fun… ever. Every month or so when I pop in, I’m brutally reminded of this.

Simple solution, if you are on a losing team & leave a match then you will automatically receive no win points from your next winning match.

This will make the but hurt people think twice about up & leaving.

Well honestly, if they reworked the way hotjoin is played as I suggested, you would have a place where you can casually play without the fear of premades. Instead, you either get cubstomped from premades in unranked, or curbstomped in hot join from people abusing the system.
