I remember the devs promised this, but it seems to be taken for granted in forums more and more that some skill tweek in one would change the other.

are we walking away from this two spheres thing? Because that was a good idea, to balance them seperately. can a dev comment to confirm they still recognize that as a potential tool? we havnt seen it used much.

The devs have confirmed pet/minion health splits for an upcoming patch. There are already a lot of other splits as well.

Splitting things too severely is dangerous because it makes it more difficult for a PvE player to try out PvP.

The devs have confirmed pet/minion health splits for an upcoming patch. There are already a lot of other splits as well.

I’m not saying there shouldn’t be splits, but there is a problem if things are too different in PvP compared to the rest of the game. Things like splitting pet health is a great example. It doesn’t change the basics of how to play the game, but it will be a welcome change to both PvP and PvE.

There are already a lot of PvP/PvE splits, such as guardian healing, revealed debuff, Save Yourselves, CnD, etc. So I don’t think it makes sense to say that they can’t do it because of money/resources, since they have regularly done it in the past. They’re probably just trying to be careful with how much they split so they don’t alienate the two playerbases more than necessary.

Agreed. They need to be careful while doing this in order to not make them vastly different. It would only create a barrier of entry for those trying to enter in PvP from PvE and vice versa. You don’t want to split them up so much so that it’s almost as if one class is now two different classes that don’t play the same.

I see how some my worry but I disagree. I think as long as the skills concept is kept intact then there’s nothing to worry about. I played World of Warcraft for 8 years before I came to Guild Wars 2, and I’m probably soon to give up on Guild Wars 2 the same reason I did World of Warcraft,

which is the Blantant favoritism of PvE over PvP. in World of Warcraft they balance skills around PvE and PvP’s issues where a second thought, this made tons of class imbalances due to the catering of Raiders, I’m not saying that they never did anything for PvP, but there’s a reason I came to GuildWars 2 to find PvP here. the only problem is I’m still looking for it

so I’m all for splitting skills more the merrier, just keep the initial concept of the skills intact

And before says my build doesn’t work, when Ele’s get nerfed it will be -Schwahrheit

You should rpobably give up now, since Arenanet has always favor PvE except for the first few years gw1 was theorize and then after PvE became more successful to them than PvP they started focusing on PvE more, since it could be monetize more. The point being as long as game has both PVE and PvP, pvE will probably win more since it is generally bigger pop.

You should rpobably give up now, since Arenanet has always favor PvE except for the first few years gw1 was theorize and then after PvE became more successful to them than PvP they started focusing on PvE more, since it could be monetize more. The point being as long as game has both PVE and PvP, pvE will probably win more since it is generally bigger pop.

I’m going to see how the next few patches go first if there’s no improvement to the MEta then I’m just going to bounce, and stick with my Steam games and dota2.

and a little off topic, just recently gw2 got into mlg, World of Warcraft actually aspire to be in the mlg as well, but mlg actually kicked out the game due to its poor balance and blizzards lack of effort in even trying to balance it. I hope this doesent happen to gw2
