nerf thief, nerf it all
(edited by Glael.7643)
How is it possible that you can have 2 thieves in your team and the others (example) 2 dragonhunters and call this “balanced” ?
This is NOT balanced and NOT even fair.
Would Arenanet mind to change their system? That only ONE class per team is available?
I’m stuck in the first division because of things like that, also other reasons but this has been bothering me for a while now.
Also I thought that you can’t get lower in your rank if you got top stats or have been the best in the team? Which I thought they wanted to get rid off?
This all doesn’t really seem to be fair to me :/

If you noticed guardian is overplayed this season. ANet follows exactly the same balancing pattern blizzard does with their pvp balancing:
1. Profession is op.
2. Nerf it to the ground.
3. Professions is crap.
4. Make it op.
5. Call it balance.
In pvp I see no mesmers, I see no engineers, I see no elementalists. Everyone plays guardian or ranger. Next season those two will get nerfed, other classes will get buffed out of proportion and the entire process will repeat itself. We will be whining on forums that profession x is no longer viable and profession y is op by design.
Maybe they just want us to buy additional character slots just to create the profession of the season and go the easy way?
And main problem with guardian right now is even if the player sucks he still can be quite dangerous.
Instead of nerfing classes I’d wish they just would take a look on games like Overwatch.
You can only pick on hero per team there.
Would it be so bad to have the same here? Only one class per team?
And if they would want to get people to buy character slots. They would also get it with this system (since you got better chances if you got every class)
So…. win/win?
I get 25% of my team’s dps as a bunker ele, and my friend playing power warrior the rest, what are people doing is targeting bunkers in mid , another ele for ex, and they hit him until my whole team is dead, seriously braindead. Also what if i tell you that they insulted because i was targeting THEIR necro for example and they reswitched the target to ele. season 5 op

It sucks to be stuck in braindead teams while being actually a good player. I don’t even know how to make up my way into a higher division with teams like this. They are not willed to take advices. Just randomly running around like chickens.
If one thing I’ve learned playing season 1-4 and getting stuck in a division. You need to “carry a team” to get yourself out, and work with what you have.
One main issue I noticed with players on lower divisions is map awareness.
Playing against 2 or more theives? make sure you know where they are at all times or they’ll back cap you.
2 or more DH? maybe you shouldn’t smash yourself onto a point, bait out traps, play ranged.
Maybe you shouldn’t 5 man far, while the other team slips by.
Ping/Ask for help when your in trouble. Some people don’t look at chat or the map, but some do.
Team stacking composition can be part of the problem, but the answer is knowing how to counter it.
3dh’s can be either stupid good or stupid bad, I’ve seen both.

Exactly, in season 3-4 i solo q’d my way up to legendary with engie carrying teams, when i get like 77 AP druids playing with zerker and like, viper mesmers WITHOUT portals, they call me to switch from mesmer and they dont even portal decap/protect, you cannot carry these baddies, its like they totally new to pvp and why should i play with all the new, or how did i end up playing with these,im like 300 or so ranks in pvp , i played all these years and still i find a proper team 1 out of 20 matches literally

Unfortunately this is also what i encounter. After the first death the chickens are headless ….
And always 3+ DH and i see lot of necos, druids and thiefs.
I’m a little skeptical when players say they’re stuck in a division because of poor teammates. The cream still rises to the top and usually if you’re not rising, it’s more to do with you. Everyone gets on bad teams from time to time or has unfavorable class match ups, but you’re just as likely to be on that team as matched against it.
Players also forget this is a team game and different builds serve different purposes. Some builds are designed for 1v1 and you should be winning most of those engagements. Others are more support and team fight oriented and just because they can’t 1v1 doesn’t mean they are underperforming.

Except last season was flooded with DHs (up to 4 per team) and the changes that needed to happen, didn’t happen. They still dominate majority of the ladder.

I know, right?

How does it have to do with me if I’m on a team with 2 + thieves and the others got like 2+ dh’s? I only said how this can be fair and balanced? I know what each class is good for but with a system like that it’s just not fair. The teams don’t get an equal chance of winning like this. Having more than one of the same class
in one team just doesn’t make it fair and equal.
I stand by my suggestion in another thread. If your “top stats” were applied to your rating rather than reward track pip, it would be incentive to play well even on losing team. Also it would help the “cream” rise a little faster.
Yes 2 theives by default look grim, but if their player skill > class, class less of an issue at that point. Of course by default 2 stupid dh’s will probably do better than 2 stupid thieves. But you have equal chance of getting that team composition.
It helps if you are flexible and switch classes. A whole team of glass will do no good if they fall over in 2 seconds. If you can bring support and bunker to “carry” a team the better.
There was a moment in season 2 I was stuck in division 2 for weeks. I gave up my current build and switch to full druid bunker, and you know what. I started winning matches because I kept the full ham glass players alive.
You are only digging yourself kitten if you refuse to adjust to what rng gave you in match making. Yes there will be blow outs, but there should be equal chance of being the other side if you can pull for your team.
Record a video of a match, analyze it. See what you can improve to stop yourself from making mistakes, and what skill sets you could swap out to help you out of a tough time.
For example. I found myself getting cc/stun locked all the time, and my currently stability skill weren’t work. I browsed my stability skills and found a trait that worked for me to minimize that issue.
