Sorry, we seen those counter thread too much.
All classes and builds got counter.
Scrapper melt in 1v2 if they don’t juke properly. And Juking is hard versus 2 players that know what they are doing.
Scrapper got nerf a lot since HoT, while other spec where not nerf at all.
Scrapper is tanky by nature but will never ever do the same damage than REV or Thief.
Scrapper is bruisers, while REV or Thief are roamer DPS.
I can claim that REV need some sustain shave, so they fit the role of roamer squishy DPS. I find it really hard to “escaped” a revenant mobility and their burst is higher than the sustain from bruisers spec.
But guess what… it’s probably right to have REV > bruisers (scrappers) because they are bad versus condies.
Rock, paper and scissors is fine actually. It was bad in October 2015.
I would probably want more VIABLE spec into META than nerfing META spec to have less viable build.
If they nerf something VIABLE, they should nerf them ALL. This would open up build diversity.
But nerf… usually bring a lot of turn over, where your player base start playing something else.
Anyway, my 2 cents.
Bruisers and Support are fine, what is not is the CONDI burst from mesmer, warrior and reaper… and of course, those same condi users will CRY a lot to nerf Tempest and Scrapper, the only viable AOE cleanses classes on META actually.
Everyone should melt in 1v2 assuming relatively equal skills.
Scrapper may not have DPS but they have a hellacious burst, which is literally the only thing that matters in PvP. 6k+ from missile turret (non-crit) on a warr/rev with protection? That’s half their health. If it crits it’s basically a 1-shot that can’t be blinded/reflected, only invul’d/dodged/blocked. Then you have their 2-3k leap, 3k+ hammer hits, and a few others PLUS condi (even though it’s minor in powerhammer).
Turrets have entirely too much health. When an engi turret has more hp than I do and they can have 2-3 out at once plus themselves, it’s ridiculous.
Scrapper out-DPS’s shield build Rev’s (both current metas) by a long shot. Rev’s are not roaming DPS, they’re support classes (2 of our 3 heals as shield herald are group, plus add prot, even if they’re comparatively tiny heals; tablet from centaur is very very easy to not put in the right place and has a miniscule range even with the 33% buff to it, and even with Mender’s is the weakest dedicated heal in the game). A Rev might, maybe, if he goes full glass-cannon (sword/axe/zerk amulet) do more single-target DPS but in a team fight the scrapper is going to do 3-4x as much.
Much like the complaints about macebow warr in S3, I think Scrapper’s gonna have too much sustain for the damage (particularly AoE) they can put out. I’m not calling for a nerf here, but it’s right on the line of being OP.
Please, give me your build.
I never thought that missile turret was something.
I want to do 3k leap/auto-attack. How do you achieve that? Berzeker amulet?
Scrapper are so weak atm that I am beating everyone of them Drop Top Coupe, Java and even chaith ( whose engi, I have yet to face). They are a lot more balanced.

Look, Scrapper wasn’t nerfed that much, kappa.
Patch Notes:
Reduced scrapper DPS by 50%
Resolved an issue where players were still playing Engineers
Easier fix if you want to get rid of the last few engineer players.
P.S. – The problem is not that the class is overpowered, it is likely because you played someone who is really good. That could have happened on any class…In my opinion though, it is easiest for me to kill while I am playing Warrior, Necromancer, Thief, Mesmer, Ranger….while I struggle with Elementalist and Engineer. This is coming from someone who is not claiming to be good, so the fact that I can run over people on the first 4 classes even though i have no clue what I am doing should really be an apples to apples look at which classes are easy mode.
better take some potassium supplements because all that salt can’t be good for your blood pressure.
not a single person is going to take you serious when you start saying things like “elementalist and engineer are harder to play than thief”
I’m actually NOT the OP here….I don’t know if you noticed…
Second, I am actually supporting enhancements to the engineer, not supporting the OP’s notion that the class be “nerfed”.
Also, I mentioned the Elementalist as well because I am not some biased player that only plays ONE class like most of you people apparently are…because that is the only reason I can think of that you would have something against these 2 classes getting some attention…
Lastly, I don’t understand the “salt” reference because I have 9 mother*** classes to choose from, and as mentioned I am speaking from personal experience that I find it easier to get PvP kills and maintain survivability on Necromancer, Mesmer, and Thief especially. If you don’t have this same experience, then that is fine…I guess it just means that I am better with those 3 classes…maybe you die a lot on those classes…which just indicates that maybe I am not as bad as I previously thought I was because here you are suggesting that that it is miraculous that I am having better PvP experiences as a Necromancer, Mesmer, Warrior, Thief than I do as an Elementalist or Engineer…
I would love to know how you find these classes so hard to play, but then again maybe we are all just good with different playstyles and classes. Personally, I don’t do well as an Elementalist, that is why my main was originally a Thief. If you have the opposite experience…I don’t see a problem with it, but I don’t see why you are unsupportive of improvements to Ele and Engi unless you main a different class.
I am not class-biased…I actually would love for every class I play to be viable…
The specific problem is that Scrapper Has Strong Offense AND Strong Defense on all its Weapon Skills.
The Solution to this would be a 2 part one:
1.) By Default on some of the skills such as Hammer #2 and #3 Remove the Defensive Property
2.) Allow for the same Defensive Properties to be “re-applied” if the appropriate Major Trait Was chosen.
Intentionally make each of the trait choices be in a non-Meta line.
This would make the balance of “Offense vs Defense” an “Either Or” rather than an “Cake and My Ice Cream Too”
Right now Engineer is Overpowered because it gets strong Offense and Defense. There is no trade off between the two, it just gets both by default (that is one of the definitions of OP).

Out of those 3 condition damage classes, Mesmer is the only one that requires you to not be kitten near brain dead, and have some skill.
On the other hand Condi Warrior, and Condi Necromancers can just face roll their keyboards if they have a general understanding of their classes and how sPvP in GW2 work.
Engineers, on the other hand is required to have one of the most class knowledge in the game. Because going up against the condi bombers of the GW2 of today is suicide unless the Engineer can not only have proper rotation but also awareness of the cool downs on their skills and opponent capability as well. Yes good Engineers are down right powerful but requires a host of knowledge and attention to details. While bad Engineers just get stomped in this condition damage meta. The only other class that requires more actually personally skill and knowledge that is successful “IMO” is the Mesmer.
On the other hand because of the short CDs and Highly Overpowered nature of Condition damage in GW2 atm with the underpowered Condition Cleanses, except on Engineer now. There is now wonder why their are people who are advocating the nerf of Engineers.
I would instead say buff the condition cleanses of the other classes. Get them in line with the Condition Damage and Duration to Condition Cleanses and Condition Hate ratio as the Power Damage to Power Hate ratio. At this time point, I believe that many will see that then only thing that gives Engineers a heads up now is their ability to counter Condition Damage in a age where Condition Damage is King of all. More so on Warrior, Mesmer, and Necromancer.
Yes I am not really class biased at all tho I do have a certain liking for my druid.

I feel more so as a solo player I am forced to play Engineer. This is because of how completely overpowered condition damage is and how totally underpowered condition cleanses are today.
TL:DR
Most of the people that complain about Engineers are the people who plays face roll classes expecting to be god to everything. But soon as they find their counter, the cries for nerf comes out of them very loudly. Condition Damage meta is the only reason IMO atleast in my case is why Engineer in pretty strong these days. A Nerf to condition damage, would more then likely balance out Engineer for the most part on it’s own.

Wtf is this? Is this like a joke thread?
TalkingTalking about rocket turret lol and how op condi engi is right now lol.

I can say that Condi Necromancer and definitely Condi Warrior gets these in spades with a lower skill floor then Engineer.

Not more balanced, over nerfed.
But thank you, you are right. Honest people get my respect. It’s way harder now to pull a cc chain to kill in 10 sec. The damage with paly is not enough anymore and with marauder we get sustains issues versus the “damage” of others build.
Yeah Scrapper Damage is now under par with the rest. (when we take 1v1 in consideration not match wide, because our AOE and sustain make sure we have constant application of that)

+1 for getting it right.
@Storm fury:
Please do 1v1 with Scrapper more. The patch did put paly scrapper in “low damage” compare to all other classes, even on marauder our damage is subpar to power guard, power thief, power rev, power mesmer… (yeah power mesmer).
@Chaith:
“Look, Scrapper wasn’t nerfed that much, kappa.”
It would be interesting to see Chaith in a 1v1 tourney with top players. You would probably play more Druid than Scrapper since last patch for 1v1.
@jourdeline you missed chaith Kappa. He was being sarcastic

Oh… since he overused the Kappa thing, I got a full stack of confusion.
Thank you to confirm what I experiment through the last support (probably viable) class of this game.
