I’ve recently finished up the living world content, and I did polish off my world completion. I was wondering what to do now the other day, and while Dungeons are great, I’ve done that, so Fractals didn’t really appeal to me. I saw the reward tracks for PvP and thought I’d give it a go. I’m trying to gear a new guardian, so I’m planning on grinding the AC track for PVT gear.

With that said, I’ve tried custom arenas and unranked as a Hambow and a Bunker Guardian and while I can’t tell how terrible I am doing,, the scoreboard has me on the lower end of the team more often then not, as much kitten-80 points behind my next closest teammate. This is going of of my unranked scores, customs are just a mess, but I feel that it’s harder for me to ruin someone’s day in there. The downside is, they cap rewards.

With it being separate from PvE and WvW, I am open to trying new classes if there is an easier learning curve there. I’m also interested in going out into WvW, but I only have an 80 Warrior, so mu choices are more limited. Once I get my weapons from BFC I may go out with the militia and try shouts.

What should I focus on in the beginning. My profession and build? Can it make things more forgiving? I’m not playing on a competitive level and only aspire to do unranked for glory and loot, so I’m probably never going to be min-max OMG awesome. I just want to get in there, hit people and capture/defend points.

“the scoreboard has me on the lower end of the team more often then not, as much kitten-80 points behind my next closest teammate.”

The scoreboard is irrelevant and is a bad indicator of your effectiveness.

In the beginning focus on one profession and build (change specs a few times in the beginning to get a feel but develop one primary spec), along with one style of play (bunker,roamer,decapper,1v1er, etc.) (and read up a little bit on your spec to learn its rotations and play style, some specs are harder than others)

Also focus on learning the maps and the win conditions for the map (watch out for the svanir, and guild lord noob traps)

Once your confortable enough in a 1v1, develop your map awareness and being able to know where the enemy is at.

Make sure you have fun, dont grind pvp!

Hope that helps.
