Hi there, im an old player that just want to try out how is GW2 Doing nowdays…i found the new ranked system interesting but also found that most Meta Builds for arena are HoT content.

I have 3 Characters that used to play back in old days..

•Thief
•Warrior
•Guardian

I dont see how the thief may become useful with a NoneMeta Build without being highly skilled with it… but anyways.

Any build for any of these classes that could do the job in ranked few weeks to see if does it worth for me coming back to this game?

Yeah, you can buy Hot through gems. And yeah, that Guardian build is your best bet for now.

Condi burst build performs better than power core in certain areas. Make a power guard for when you get countered by Ele/Engi/War/DH cleanses and sustains they bring on point. Regardless, you’ll likely be forced to play sides with power guard. Maybe even go Zerkers if they don’t have a thief.

That meta battle build is terrible. Strength in numbers is far better. A core guardian with zeal waltzing into pvp is trollbait. Honor is far better and will increase your pressure to a point far more than zeal.

Core Guardian burn build is a great build. Go with it, enjoy it.

MMmm seems like i cant…. you can get a Deluxe upgrade but it wont bring you HOT content sadly or at least is what ppl says at reddit.

Condi engi its an option too, i rolled that last season, with the non-scrapper version, and it went very well in last season

Core Thief does very well for the same role as Daredevil, using Sa/Da/Tr D/P

I ran this personally this season all the way to platinum just to say I could. It’s burning based but drops radiance for honor, taking radiance really doesn’t provide much damage increase. Lay down your scepter 2 on the point to support your team and wreak havoc on people when their cleanse runs out. You’re best in a team fight as your 1v1 damage is low. The more targets you hit at once your damage increases exponentially. Great for when someone goes down lay everything you have on them and before t2 gold their team will wipe easy.

And condi engi is also good. I’ve fought some that were definitely top tier worthy but I hear it’s hard to play.

I use this guardian meditation build on my alt. It works fairly well if you know how to play it.

I usually go cap home then help at mid where I try my best to avoid the big chunks of AoE since don’t have the protection of shield of courage.

This. It’s just great – great survivabilty and you can tank anything. And Rampage is one of the best Elites.

Honestly, it’s really visible that HoT elite specs are better than vanilla but there are a few vanilla builds that are worthy. I didn’t buy HoT but thaknfully there are a few meta builds that are viable – Warrior GS/Hammer; Ranger Power Survival and Mesmer Condi shatter (I play those 3). But you can take the meta build as an example and change a few thingies here and there and that can maybe work better for you.

The old core power shatter mesmer is always fun. The +1 damage is insane….just play safe

All core specs should stay away from warriors. Any core can be stun locked and 100-0 by a zerker. You won’t outlast their invuln and blocks so disengage and find another fight.
