Seems like running with the zerg and tagging in big fights gives you the most pts.

Taking and defending nodes alone seems to give the least.

So, would the highest scoring class tend to be a tanky class that can tag enough enemies to get in on the skirmish pts?

What would that class be at the moment?

Necro. Solid AoE damage, decent tankiness if you stick with the group (death shroud can keep you alive, if not up, through most burst if you’re in the middle of your team).

Staff Ele is another decent choice; lots of good aoes. You might also consider nade engi, axe ranger or longbow warrior.

Will condition damage get you the same pts on the kill that burst DPS will?

Just thinking about the type of build to make.

No bunker can tank the zergs in hotjoin, i really dislike kittening zergers but its what people do when they suck in 1v1.

Condition damage gets the same amount of points. Its 5 for a kill/assist and 10 for the kill/assist being on an objective. I believe that there is a minimum amount of interaction (so just 1 aoe won’t tag everyone for you, but an aoe chill + aoe poison would if they died soon after).
