Best thing about this patch: blu42
He was freaking awesome for his first cast kept me entertained.
Very solid first go of things. I think he needs a co-caster, and of course to slow down a tad as its being watched, not a radio broadcast.
also, if slow bits explaining the meta or specs etc would be great.
Thanks guys. The response I got tonight was amazing! Just wanted to address a few of the concerns people had…
Technical: I believe all of these issues have been fixed, working on a new mic, but the crash at around 8:30ish was due to twitch’s servers crashing, not my own error.
Fast Talking: This really only happened because I was alone and wanted to deliver all the info I could.
Game knowledge: I have been out of the loop for about two months, but as I ease back into it I should begin to state things with more confidence soon.
Co-caster: I have two people that have signed on to stream with me already. Fixi from the first game had to go early (late in EU), but I will be with him again tomorrow. I will gladly cast with anyone wishing to try it as well. Just hit me up by email and we can talk: DrBLU42@Gmail.com
Thanks again for the amazing reaction guys… was a great first day for esports!

I think your cast showed a lot of people how enjoyable watching a GW2 pvp match can be without being locked behind 1 or 2 characters with their camera movements.

Very fun stream to watch, hope to see more of it!

I watched a few rounds and here are my thoughts on it.
1 It’s ok to be excited but don’t get too excited. What I mean is you talk too quickly and too loudly sometimes and it’s hard to even understand what your are saying.
2 I like to see the scores of each individual player occasionally. I know myself and many others were rooting for the warrior but we never once got to see actual individual scores. It seemed like he was getting destroyed though which was sad.
3 Get some B-Roll or a wallpaper or something else to look at during downtime. I don’t really want to see a closeup of your face for over a half hour.
4 Try to flip around from point to point less often. There were so many times when you flip to a point and there is an intense 1v1 going on and you just keep cycling through going oh nothing at this point or this one. Don’t channel surf.
5 Just remember that we can spectate ourselves and control the camera to our liking. The reason people watch a shoutcaster is for the commentary. If you don’t say anything deep or interesting what’s the point?
That’s why I said Obs-Mode and CA’s are by far the most important things, because they make awesome stuff like this possible!
Good job.
What annoys me a bit is that often Streamers don’t offer low-quality Streams and VoD’s on low quality: My Inet sometimes really sucks and I’d rather watch on a lower Setting without lag than high-def Slide-Shows. ^^’

Only people who partnered with twitch are able to offer several different qualities; but hopefully at the rate blu is going he can get partnered really quickly.

Thank you for sharing this. Was very nice to watch high skilled games with his comment.
Congratz on the first cast:p
Let’s see how it grows from here but the good thing is that it will probably emphasize even more the need for a slower paced combat with easier to read teamfights.
Otherwise we’ll be stuck with : “Bobby’s taking sh loads of damage, he quickly pops his invuln”. And that’s about it. Next:p
Very enjoyable to watch. Good job Blu!

Loved your stream mate, good job!
Just a lil’ feedback from me: this game has too many things going on simultaneously to take note of them all. It might actually be better to pick an interesting fight and stick to commenting on it rather than jumping from a fight to another and not seeing either of them unfold. Otherwise all good, best of luck Blu!

Five good points. I second pretty much all of these.
It’s okay if nothing exciting is constantly going on (You can use these moments to talk meta-game or builds, to enlighten listeners that might not know what the current meta-game is). What i mean by that is: Save your excitement for when something epic is actually happening, and try to focus on those moments instead of trying to cover everything that is happening at all times.
Somebody going down is a pretty regular thing in a team-fight, so that might not need to be emphasized, where as an epicly placed warbanner or illusion of life is definitely worth mentioning!
In short: Remember to priotize what is going on, and try to focus on the more remarkable events. Use the time inbetween to (for example) talk meta-game and strategies, or if you cannot think of anything an anecdote always works.
The viewer needs these “relaxing breaks”, if everything is supposedly exciting and amazing it will lead to confusion.
EDIT:
Just to give an example:
http://youtu.be/N0RcFQk2-us?t=3m57s
At this particular moment of the shoutcast, they focus on the fight at the treb. Instead of talking about which skills that are being used etc. They choose to talk about why it is a good strategy to have a mesmer defending the treb.
This is very viewer-friendly, and having such pauses are really needed.
I hope this can be of any use. Best luck and keep it up!

Great work dude, more people like you will grow the population I hope.
I watched BLU’s stream last night… it was so entertaining it actually kept me from playing the game. Great cast BLU huge improvements from when you started.

Awesome job, Blu.
Tank Girl: Booga, that was very smart.
Gath Gealaich | Rémi Heltzer [GN] – Elona [D]
Great Job Blu, keep up the good stream
I had this playing last night, good times and the game is surprisingly fun to watch.

Should be able to pull different screens so you can show a main-fight and another fight. (Like they do in LoL sometimes)
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
