Hello.

I am working on a new build and would like some advice to save time doing my own testing to find out the information that is all ready available to a select few and hidden inside these forums.

Its all about bleeds. At what point does duration increase and condition damage be more important than the previous.

If you stack 2 runes each of krait, centersaur, and another one you can have an increase of 45%. If you have the sigil for 10% it brings you up to 55%. In your trait line you can increase it another 30%. Total increase 85%. (Dont think you can have 2 sigils both for 10%)

Currently I have the runes and sigil, and trait line up to 20%. My condition damage is 975. Would i be better stacking more condition damage in the runes and loose the duration.

So the actual question is: What would be the perfect duration increase on bleeds, from 0% up to 85%. What is the % to aim for? Since then i can play around with runes, sigils, armours, to get to that % and it can free up other things.

in my experence bleed duration is more useful on shorter bleeds such as ranger shortbow auto, engi pistol auto or bleed thieves, if you consider that alot of bleeds are already +10secs long especially on necro you would want to increase the per tick as actually your unlikely they will have that bleed for the full duration. if your a thieve and you can stack bleeds very quickly, having them go from 3 seconds to 5 seconds is a huge burst in dmg. what you need to do really is find a sweet spot. for instance my auto atk does 4 ticks of bleeds i think without runes, with 45% it only does 1 extra and alot of wasted time, with 45% and 5in cond duration it does 6 ticks, look at what your most common skill is to apply bleeds and work around that. as a 4 sec bleed will become 6seconds with 50% duration, but a 3sec bleed (caltrops for me) will only do 4.5sec only adding 1 bleed, so i personally go for 25% duration using 2x krait and 4x rune of lyssa for “condition duration and some other random boon on heal” test what works best with your build and most used skill. more condition dmg will get the dmg out faster, and more reliably then simply increasing duration. though abit of both is probably good.

You’re always better off going condition damage over duration. So your conditions do the max amount of damage before they are inevitably removed, your bleeds could last for 10mins, but it wouldn’t matter if they get removed after 3seconds. Aim to get at least 1250 condition damage before you start worrying about duration.

yeah aga is correct, and actually if you look at most of the stats, there is a point of diminishing returns, where it takes a large sacrifice to add a small lvl of dmg or defence.

i personally do use condition duration, as my condition dmg is already sufficiently high to warrant adding duration since my duration is very low without it, and im quite happy for people to burn their condition removals on my bleeds knowing full well, ive got an extremely large amount more of them coming their way

Thanks for the advice. Will check to see how many ticks it adds and see what i can get instead.

Remember too it depends on the particular bleed. Bleeds only tick once a second. If you don’t get a full extra second duration is useless. So basically it’s impossible to say how valuable duration is without knowing precisely how much you have already and what the base durations on your bleeds are.

For doing Dungeons i would stack Duration over Condition stat, very rarely do they get removed.
