Anyone else think they should bring back the paid tourney?

current format would be fine, if we had random maps.

3 round tournaments should take place once in a day/week

Yeah, just seems in paid there wasn’t as many low ranked people who had no clue what to do. Now it seems like a crap show, or to me at least.

Yea the days of paids were so much better tan this kitten now, the ques were long and all but it was more fun to play. Also ladder based on paids would be beter.

This is what I think they should do:
Separate solo queue ladder from team ladder(two ladders), solo queue matches would be the current 1v1 1 round games and team matches would be the old 8 team 3 round paid tournaments. From here, they should start pvp seasons, with prizes for top % players in each ladder. Also, team ladder rewards should be slightly better than solo queue rewards to prevent people from loosing interest in team play.

2 team tournaments are the new hot joins, hot join servers have less people nowadays

paid tournament never worked out

there are a lot more people playing tourney now and queue pop much faster; often instantly.

you will still get odd matchups but I think that’s due to player population of different ranks and time you queue.

Paid tournaments are not needed imo. That is why the game needs a real match making system, so you are grouped with people that are of equal skilled(solo queued) or you play against teams of equal skill.
In short, if you are complaining about being with people that have no clue what to do, you are either one of those people that have no clue what to do, or Anet failed with their matchmaking. Personally I think it’s the latter.

All anet has to do is critically think of a way to get an actual tournament system working. These 1 round “tournaments” shouldn’t be called tournaments. If queue was a problem they should have just moved paid tournaments as a weekend event only and instead use glory as an entrance. These tournaments should be the only be the factor that determines rank.

To the above poster, yea your right in the end the matchmaking of this game is horrible. Honestly I rather the matchmaking be done by pvp rank rather then an invisible rank which means kitten.
